In the grand scheme of things, not a large amount of money. But still very problematic.

The Kumb website is literally full of joy. Yesterday night's result was literally the highlight of their season, yet they have the brass neck to say they're not obsessed with us. They are more desperate to see us fail than they are in actually winning something. Loads of posts literally piling in on our result.

Yes we went out of the FA Cup and Champions League tamely. However many of their fans are the very essence of being completely unaware of the self irony they display when they call us perennial trophy dodgers.

They're battling near the basement and they're more interested in revelling in our failure.

So when was the last time they won a trophy ? Was it more than 28 years before us ?

Or was it 5 if you count the 2003 East London Triangle Cup which happens every year and involves them and Leyton Orient and Dagenham and Redbridge, and for the last 18 seasons they proudly display 3rd place rosettes signifying their 3rd place finishes in said East London Triangle Cup.......OK I jest in the last paragraph, but you get the gist with their deflection irony.

Not to be funny but going to check their forum and writing this big essay about them after yesterday's result seems a bit obsessive...

I went to look to see what the score was on the main page on the Guardian Football makes no reference to it at all. You can't even search for the conference league in the Results dropdown.

I wonder what would be the odds for West Ham winning the ECL and getting Europa League football next season
while also getting relegated. Then us ending up in the ECL for the icing on the cake ?

Best relegation battle in years, so many teams in and amongst it now. Everytime I think a side is dead and buried they go and get an unlikely win.

West Ham though have the distraction that is European football - you do wonder how much that will factor. They just don’t have that luxury of preparing for one game a week that the rest have.

Todays results were another blow for them and they are under huge pressure tomorrow against a Villa side that probably need one more win to fully secure their status for next season.

Genuinely think they're going to win this. None of the other sides are much cop.

Really don't think Gent will be easy. Alkmaar could be dangerous too.
Nice have improved too

Don't underestimate some of these teams.

Fiorentina look pretty handy from the couple of times I’ve seen them play this season.
It’s a European cup, I’m sure at least one of these other teams will be inspired and play out of their skin. Let’s just hope West Ham don’t follow suit
