Tbh West Ham have the quality to stay up and imo they should be up there at top 10. Their squad have some good players Antonio, F. Anderson, Yarmolenko, Rice, Lanzini, Fornals, Cresswell etc. They just need to sort the board and manager out.

I am with wirE on this, sadly I don't think they are going down, looked likely last year but I reckon they have enough decent players to stave off actually going down. Could still get drawn into a fight for their lives though if they don't sort themselves out. If they get unlucky with injuries maybe lose Rice and one or two others for a significant part of the season then maybe.

They've been trying to flog Lanzini and Anderson all summer, and Rice to Chelsea is an ongoing flirtation from both sides.

Yarmelenko is a one game in 10 kind of player, Fornals is a bit nothingy so far and I genuinely can't remember Cresswell doing anything of note in recent years.

Antonio pretty much single-handedly saved them from relegation post-lockdown.

Despite all that, they'll probably survive again... just.

Lanzini got like 2 assists last season and Felipe Anderson went missing. Both are living on the name and nationality.

West Ham are in huge trouble if Rice goes, unless they reinvest the money in 3/4 quality players. They look short all over the pitch in key areas.

There's a name I'd forgotten. Reminds me of that Konoplyanka who groups of people on the forums were rubbing off over when we were linked, and he went on to do....nothing really.

Again, why do GSB away with criticism for rejecting a £350m bid whilst Ashley accepts a £300m bid and has been holding the club to ransom

In what fucking world is West Ham more expensive than Newcastle. Yeah they are in a bigger market but West Ham are Londons 4th biggest club which in recent times are below the likes of Crystal Palace, Newcastle should have a bigger fanbase

Then you have the problem of stadium, £300m is a lot to pay for a lease

I'm fairly certain West Ham will get the option to buy their council house in due course... to save the public money

That’s shocking, Newcastle are a bigger club and actually own their ground. The only assets they have are the players and training ground!
If I had £350m to invest I’d be chucking £300m to Ashley and giving Bruce an extra few quid for reinforcements!

Well it appears that Newcastle owes Mike Ashley £112m with a yearly interest payment of £0.1m

Whilst West Ham owes £45m and yet pays a yearly interest payment of £6.2m

Now some teams pay high interest like ourselves but when the debt is owed to the owner, paying yourself £6.2m in interest is ridiculous

London based club probably adds to the value but yeah the fact they don't own the stadium and they still expect more than what Newcastle have been offered is insane.

BUT don't forget they have England captain Mark Noble on the books, that's an extra £150m right there.....

Although talks of Chelsea wanting Rice but big money could be a factory in why they are asking for more.
