Probably...but not necessarily the right ones....remember Sanchez...? They may well be loaded and I have no idea what you mean by saying "biggest" club in the country...."big" as what...?? I presume you mean reputation. That however doesn't guarantee success....it will be a long while before this Man Utd fills the shoes of its famous predecessors under Ferguson's reign.
Trophies, fan base, income, brand awareness, international reach, etc. They're a fucking behemoth of a club and one of the largest sporting entities on the planet. North Korean foetuses have heard of them. They're big.

But yes, reputation and size does not by any means guarantee future success.

They're big AND shit.

Exactly...a massive worldwide commercial enterprise but maybe no longer a successful football club.

Man U have crashed since Ole got the gig permanently. Won 14 of his 18 games as temporary manager. Has only won 2 of their last 11 games (since beating PSG away). If they start slowly next season he'll be gone by end of Sept.

It all has to be done "respectfully' though...I would suggest he will resign.

I would describe Phil Jones with the word "ability" unfortunately for him I'd have to put the letters "li" in the front of it.

Looking at the back papers this morning it seems like they are getting ready for a clear out and subsequent transfer spree all overseen by solskjaer

His recruitment of players while at Cardiff was terrible. Sure it’s a hugely different budget but he’s still got to pick the right players.

I posted this earlier this year. How much he will want his agent/mate involved, I wonder. http://josimarfootball.com/the-double-agent/

The papers will write all sorts of crap if it means selling copies. Right now, it’s what United and Arsenal fans want to hear, A Clear Out and Rebuild. Easy pickings

Will OGS survive the end of season review United are bound to have ? I wouldn't want to be responsible for letting him spend hundreds of millions of pounds/euros.

Said it before and will say it again, Ogs is completely out of his depth and a disaster for them now. The job is too big for him, especially with a massive rebuild needed. In short, they’re fucked :ROFLMAO:

Our Norwegian experts don't think Solbakken will be allowed in at the top table the way he was at Cardiff. And even if he was, he doesn't have any players in his roster that are anywhere near what United need, even Ole knows that.

Also got to wonder what martial is thinking now? Obv he’s minted but his career is disappearing fast over the horizon. You have to imagine it’ll take United at least 2 or 3 seasons to sort this out.

Squads in a worse state than Arsenal's and that's saying something, they are fucked.

I don't think they've got a choice. They've put themselves into this situation now that if they sack Ole they will get daggers from their own fans who will certainly start to turn on the board.

The very first thing they need to do, before making any signings, is offload about 5 or 6 players. But the key is to not go wild with new signings, just 3 or 4 to start with and they have to be players with the right mentality, that has to come first. Can Ole do that? He may believe he can but as we've seen ourselves it is a very difficult challenge.

Both them and Arsenal may spend years trying to reverse their plight.

United have money that, if spent wisely, can get them out of that state. But even since before Fergie retired nobody at the club has been trustworthy enough to make the right calls. Since de Gea and van Persie came in pretty much every signing they've made has been average/poor/disaster.

It should be pretty easy to improve them really. There's no way that Smalling and Jones should still be playing there. If they sign two good central defenders they'll look instantly better. If they replace Ashley Young they'll improve. If they get rid of Sanchez and replace him with one of their kids they'll improve.
I still wouldn't bet on them getting a top for spot next season though.

When you look at it that way, sure. But how shit must Woodward, Moyes, van Gaal and Mourinho have been that none of them have managed to bring in some better defenders? Lindelof is better but clearly needs a leader beside him, like an upmarket Dawson. LvG sold the one decent RB they had in Rafael.

So many bad decisions.

If they've got any sense, they'll spend big money on getting in a proper DoF type to oversee the long-term transfer strategy/rebuilding and let OGS just get on with being a coach. I don't think OGS will survive tll the end of next season so at least if you've had someone above him taking care of the transfers it's not a complete waste of time.
