Let's All Laugh At... Let's all wonder what's going on at United?

The first thing I'd do is sell Pogba. Wonderfully talented player but not a player who you want to rely on for consistency and resolute in midfield.

Made me laugh seeing them call him 'Jogba' on their forum.

It's not the first time I've seen Pogba and Sissoko on the same pitch, and Sissoko has made Pogba look inferior by comparison.

Goes to show that talent and technique are no match for effort and athleticism

I never have and still don’t see the big deal with Pogba.

Yeah the odd flash here and there, but overall I just don’t think he brings you that much. Easily played around and lacks the fight when needed.

There is clearly a lot of ability there. But he needs to be carried and he needs to perform more consistently to justify his lack of effort.

Yeah exactly, I just find that he’s one of those players who stars in a 4-0 win, but in the tight games rarely makes a difference. Not the type who will take a game on and drag his team through it.

Essentially he could be the world’s most expensive super sub.

United seem to be following the Madrid of old and looking for 'galactico' or big signings.

They are not addressing their issues. They need centre backs but because they spent so much on Maguire they believe he is the man to make a difference.

After the re start Ighalo was massive for them, scored goals and put a massive shift in every time he played. He was not a huge superstar signing up the right player they needed.

Fast forward to this window and they buy Van de Beek who was not what they needed, a lovely player but not what their priority should have been. They have courted Sancho all window to no avail.

They are now brining in a free agent who they could have had throughout pre season and a player who is in the last 12 months of his deal so again wouldn't of been hard to complete earlier.

Woodward is a disaster.

Probably one of the most effective performances I’ve seen of his was coming on as a sub in the first post lockdown game against them. He looked so dangerous.

I just don’t think he has the hunger and I agree he’d be the first out the door if I was them. When Poch joins them, I suspect he will make the same demand.

The Glazers seem to have this weird bi-polar attitude with their fans. They seem to constantly flit between desperately seeking the fans approval by buying Galaticos or just ignoring them.

The fans seem to think the club will never be able to develop until they go.

Personally I think the whole takeover was rancid right from the initial purchase.

No idea who this guy is

Sounds like another "has barely kicked a ball" player:

Analysis by Sky Sports' Richard Morgan:

Manchester United are reportedly preparing a Deadline-Day move for the Atalanta winger, but what do we know about the player?

Well, Traore, 18, was born in the Ivory Coast, before moving to Italy around the age of ten, joining Atalanta in 2015.

The youngster made his debut for Atalanta last season, becoming the youngest player - at 17 years and 109 days old - to score on his Serie A debut in their 7-1 thrashing of Udinese.

As a result, the Ivorian travelled with the Atalanta squad to Lisbon for their Champions League quarter-final defeat to Paris Saint-Germain last summer.

However, Traore has featured in just three league games for Atalanta, totalling only 30 minutes of football, while he has also been an unused substitute for the Italians so far this season.

The player has, though, impressed in training, so much so that Papu Gomez recently likened him to a certain Lionel Messi.

“There are defenders in the first team that sometimes cannot stop him. To stop him in training, we have to kick him! He plays like Messi,” said Atalanta’s captain.

Utd have been all over the place since Fergie left. Moyes seemed a sensible option to steady the ship but his appointment mixed with Woodward's inability to sign players made for a mess.

LVG bought them lots of young players but most failed to make the grade at Utd and at their next club.

Jose brought them short term success but the fans never took to him and they fired him.

It feels like the club and fans feel they have been quick to fire managers so now want to give their manager time. Problem, for them, is they are giving the wrong manager time.

They have some really good attacking players but there is little evidence of them becoming a team. They have enough quality in their squad to compete but I can't see them building any level of consistency.
It often goes unreported when this discussion gets brought up but David Gill also left and placed pretty much the entire custodianship of the club in Woodward's hands the same summer as Fergie left.

There is one constant through the entire post-2013 period and that is Ed Woodward who was thrown into the job as a more or less complete novice at the same time as the two men who were synonymous with the football club both left at the same time.

Their first mistake was putting Moyes in charge. They should have gone for someone with real pedigree, and let’s face it, at the time they’d have been able to attract any of the top bosses. Moyes was completely out of his depth.

From memory he was Fergie’s choice.

Well that was Fergie's mistake. Woodward's mistake has been his extreme hubris convincing himself that he didn't need help running the football side of the club.

The first thing I'd do is sell Pogba. Wonderfully talented player but not a player who you want to rely on for consistency and resolute in midfield.

I'd then spend that money on Upemecano and Grealish rather than piss around with Sancho. And sign a DM and LB.

Either Ole doesn't have the balls to say to the board, what he really wants or he's joining in with this futile chase for Sancho.

I said on Friday how weak Solskjaer came across in his pre match interview, offering weak excuses by talking about how hard finances are, supporting the board with zero enthusiasm, and nervously giggling his way though it. He didn't want to be there and you could see he's struggling.

Compare to Jose, a winner, who didn't hide from the truth and tried to apply pressure on the board. United fans said he should have been more professional and hid his feelings, yet he was only saying what they are feeling now.

Agree, their strategy in the market is mental this summer. They could have realistically gone and brought in Rice, Grealish and Ings and added a much needed central English spine to the team, whilst getting a couple more squad players for elsewhere and built something quite strong, but instead messed about hopelessly chasing Sancho and in the end adding very little quality. What a disaster of a window for them.
