Its in front of your eyes, you just need to open them now and again.

Under Hughes in 2012-13 Rangers had a net spend of £36m, following nearly £23m the previous season. Redknapp's first full season, the net spend was - £5.5m, and in 2014-15 £19m. So, yes, the answer is in front of your eyes.

Wage bill increased a fair bit under Redknapp though.. QPR have/had problems that transcend Arry, but he certainly doesn't help.

Are you sure? He got rid of some big earners. They got rellegated and then came back up. I'd have thought their current wages are less than under Hughes. Although I might be wrong.

I feel a bit for Franco but it seems his role is becoming more and more redundant.

Take the fall Baldini

Anything in that Jason Burt article the other week that claimed he suggested getting Mitchell in? Virtually everyone else reckons Pochettino's none too impressed.
i cant comment on this one without incriminating myself!

The cynic in me thinks Levy is trying to distance himself early from another unproductive and target fail transfer window. I may well be wrong of course.

wasted a lot of money on mediocrity

Eriksen fantastic buy-at the very least he would have doubled in value
Chadli, value for money.

Chiriches- will sell for the purchase price.
Capoue-would have thought will sell for purchase price
(so these two may not have improved us long term, although I think Capoue is a good player with attitude problems, but the money isnt wasted per se)

I know im in the minority, but I believe Lamela will 'come good' and be a star and we definitely can't say we've wasted 25 million on him at the moment.

Soldado, hasnt worked out for the money. Although he a is very good footballer. Did we overpay? Or was it the wrong team/system for him- that then comes down to who really pushed for his signing and the reasoning.
Paulinho has also not been a success, although not as dreadfully awful as people try and say. But we would lose money I assume on selling him. And he will be a success somewhere else. Unless we got a lucrative paid for loan deal from Brazil and then sold him for a fee afterwards to Italy or somehwere.

Then last summer.

Vorm-good business in my book.
Davies- 21 and now settled looks like a good deal.

Stambouli hasn't really had a chance, but it would be hugely unfair to say he was wasted money at this stage.

Fazio wasn't first choice-but as he becomes settled he is starting to look like an improvement in defence.
Dier- a good young player with bags of potential.

Yedlin-slightly cynical about this one and believe it was a Levy commercial inspired deal.

I'm not saying he's been fantastic. but when we say that everything Baldini has done has turned to shit, like many do on here, it also not looking at the it objectively in my opinion.

Their wage bill in the year ending June 2012 was £58m—almost double what it was the previous year, and 91% of turnover. It went up to to £78m in the year ending June 2013, a mind-boggling 128%. That's the seventh highest in the league, for a club with the 18th highest turnover. Bonkers.

So, even under Warnock, they were living way beyond their means, and it's likely that most of that huge hike came under Hughes. It will be interesting to see the 2013-14 figures, and Stoke's, too; their wage bill shot up from 75% to 90% of turnover under Pulis.

I think he meant 'a lot of money' on mediocre. Paulinho + Soldado is close to £50m on mediocrity.

In my own view, I don't think Baldini had a jot to do with any of the business that you have mentioned bar Lamela.
