I never said this is exactly what happened Matt, I just suggested a scenario.
Can't understand why so many people find it so incomprehensible, unless they're football finance and contractual law experts it's just fans using very little actual knowledge to leap to a conclusion.

My guess is that they didn't feel anyone else would come in for him, so they agreed to the 25 now...considering we only really stepped up our interest with a week or 2 left of the window.
