If Leyton Orient have any say in whether the game goes ahead, we surely couldn’t offer them any compensation. It would be too much
like paying them to forfeit the game.

I imagine that the delay is because of the clubs disagreeing on the next stage forward. Orient are saying ‘we want to play, here’s a team of players who tested negative who are available’ as they’re desperate for the money, but we’re saying ‘no way are we taking the risk with the health of our players, you need to forfeit as you didn’t send home players who’d been reported as ill and can’t conclusively prove that they’ve not transmitted it to that list of players you’ve provided’.

Off the back of that, it’ll be a conversation between lawyers, not chairmen, and because we can afford Olswang (I think they still do everything for us) and they can only afford Lionel Hutz (anyone who doesn’t get this reference, be ashamed), we’ll get our best case result.

I've really been looking forward to this game, I even bought one of the Orient shirts and the cash Would be so good for them.
Much as it pains me though I just don't see how this game can go ahead.

We can't "pay them off". How is that anything other than a bribe? If it gets called off we can announce in a couple of weeks that we will hold a friendly match against them, I'm sure that could raise over 100k when the fans are let back in.

18 people? That is nuts. it really makes you think how bad it is in other lower league clubs that aren't testing.

Just went to William Hill and the game is not even listed for betting.

Do they know something we don't? or just precautionary...

Sorry but we can't risk playing this match. If 18 of their players have it, we can't know for sure who else is infected. Sometimes these things take a few days to show in testing. Imagine of we play them and end up with even one player infected, then having to close down the training centre etc etc... It could potentially be catastrophic.

Olswang and Hutz mean nothing to me I have no understanding of these or this or whatever it is . Apparently if I feel this way I should feel ashamed therefore " I am shamed "

Makes you wonder why they don’t impliment a local lockdown if there’s an outbreak of that scale. They’d be falling over themselves to do it in the North.

Must be rife in the lower leagues.
If they're just allowed to go around playing matches with so many positive cases.

Imagine if we weren't playing them and got these tests and they were just allowed to continue playing this coming weekend.

Hutz is the inept lawyer in the Simpson’s.
