Haha, even if i wanted to jump ship its just impossible to do so isn't it. To think, for the next 50/60 years of my life I am going to have my weeks ruined by 11 men who fail to kick a ball in a net.... Haha but we love it really.

Yer you raise another good point. But even though those clubs have fallen by the wayside again to Man Utd they still did get their brief moment in the spotlight. I guess that was the point I was trying to make. Don't get me wrong I don't think success is measured simply by finishing above your rivals one year, success is obviously measured by sustained dominance, winning and silverware etc. And as another poster alluded to earlier, I certainly wouldn't trade our position with Everton's simply because they have finished above their rivals a bit recently. But I still would just like to finish above Arsenal once, as Everton have done with Liverpool, City have done with Utd etc.

Even if this season we finish fourth and Arsenal finish third, as ecstatic as I will be to finish in a champions league place, a small childish part of me will still be a bit miffed that they get to gloat about finishing above us again. I guess it is a rather childish way of looking at things, but sometimes its hard to shake that childish desire to be No.1 :bag:

I wouldn't say childish, it's just that competitive nature of a rivalry. At the end of the season I could care less about Arsenal, Chelsea or West Ham, it's where we finish that I care about. But you always in the back of your mind want to get ahead of your nemesis or rival and put them in your place. I'd be dissapointed if as a Spurs fan you didn't have that (y)
