So we may have a completely different squad of players to choose from come Saturday, what do you think will be the starting lineup?

Friedel
Walker----Gallas----Vertonghen---Benny
Sandro---Dembele
Lennon-----VDV-----Bale
Adebayor
Would be my guess. I think we might have other new players in by then but I don't think other than Dembele they'll be ready to take their place in the side. That side is starting to look really strong though and I think we'll see our first win on the board this weekend.

I think that's pretty much it. Sig in place of VDV if he's sold. I'm just not sure we have a RWF that's consistently dangerous enough for his 433 yet. So unless a loan or Willian is brought in, I think we're looking at the 4231 until at least January.

When Adebayor is out/subbed, who goes up top? Kane isn't ready yet and Defoe is an inch tall. I'm wondering if it morphs into a 460 at that point.

Anyway, can't wait to see the new additions starting to become regulars.

Absolutely God knows. Let's attempt it anyway:

Friedel
Walker - Verts - Gallas - Benny
Moutinho - Sandro - Dembele
Lennon - Ade - Bale

Lloris
Walker----Gallas----Vertonghen---Benny
Sandro---Dembele
Lennon-----Sig-----Bale
Adebayor
Though imo it should be Caulker ahead of Gallas at the moment

Actually love this lineup, but don't see it happening this weekend.

Me either mate. I'm convinced it'll be 4-2-3-1 with Gallas, Lennon and Livermore with Dembele and van der Vaart on the bench.

I'd like to see...

Friedel
Walker, Kaboul/Dawson, Vertonghen, Assou-Ekotto
Livermore, Dembele
van der Vaart, Sigurdsson, Bale
Adebayor

Cudicini, Naughton, Dawson/Caulker, Sandro, Huddlestone, Lennon, Defoe

Livermore deserves to start after his performance last week. Though harsh on Sandro, Dembele should start instead of him. Lennon and van der Vaart both deserve to be dropped after their efforts last week but I think van der Vaart is the much better player so he has to start. Gallas needs to be pensioned off - no need for him to get near a game as it just stunts Caulker's growth.

Seriously? Did you see how much of a mess it was after Sandro went off? It's not harsh on Sandro to leave him out, it is sucidal (although we'd probably get away with it against Norwich as we have something to prove against them and we should be fired up). The defensive system when we play the high line and fullbacks bombing forward requires someone who can slot in between the two centre backs and cut out play in front of him. Sandro is by far the best we have at this and despite him not looking special last weekend the difference after he departed was immediately obvious.

Van Der Vaart will start this weekend, unfortunately I think it will be for Hamburg at Bremen

I think you could be right with that lineup. VDV could leave, in which case we would probably see Sig in his place unless Dembele plays there with Livermore starting next to Sandro. That would seem a little negative, though, and I would imagine in the above formation we might see Dembele get forward when attacking. Maybe something like this:

Friedel
Walker----Gallas----Vertonghen---Benny
Sandro
VDV---Dembele
Lennon---Adebayor---Bale
But what do I know?

If Lloris signs I'd hold him back until the Reading game, needs to have more than one or two training sessions with the defence.

What did Livermore do last week to deserve to keep his place ahead of Sandro?

I'd be hesitant to plonk Dembele straight in, but then again, I'd still do it I guess.

Friedel
Walker Gallas Verty Disco
VDV Sandro Dembele
Lennon Adebayor Bale
