Capoue created alot of chances for a DM, 24 clearcut chances(Carrick has created 22) and was considered one of the best passers in the league

As for Dembele, I cant remember much of the AZ team but he was used as a striker and got 12 goals and 2 assists but missed a large portion of the season to injury

Dembele was used as a winger, in a front three. He was considered pretty vital to the title, pushing the team after returning from injury.

I do not deny Capoue is a fine passer, and seems to be a pretty good dribbler as well. But in terms of 'passes that lead to shots' Capoue produces less thatn 0.3 a game, less than Sandro, Vertonghen and Kaboul. I accept he hasn't had many full games, but I don't see him as creative, just as a good passer.

They won't sack him. They will spend some money and see how he goes. At the moment they have a very poor team which Moyes inherited. They will give him at least until the end of next season imo.

I think this will be the case especially after Klopp (who i think is the manager United actually want) made comments that he wouldn't be going to Barca because he loves Dortmund...United will ignore the Dortmund part and make a bid for him next summer (when i believe his current contract enters its final year).

You can't classify Capoue as a real creative force.

He's a DM who can get his head up and pass it forward well. There's a difference between being able to pass progressively from deeper areas of the pitch as opposed to actually affecting the game by creating openings that invariably happen in the final third of the pitch.

Not to say he won't ever directly create from deep, but he's much more likely to be supplying the 'creators' well which obviously helps the team dynamic.

Sounds a bit like Modders, assisting the assists...

I hope he decides to have a team clear out. Could do with some of their players I think, even those a bit passed it. We need people who have experience and mentality to win. I'd take Evra, Valencia, Welbeck and Fletcher. I know some of them have not been good recently but I believe they are still good players really.

Klopp has another four years on his contract, I think.

Van Gaal for a few years then Klopp when his contract expires...?

I've always thought Moyes would get until at least the end of the year - by that I mean the calender year.

But having listened to him after the Everton game I'm really starting to wonder. I know they won't always be honest in interviews, protecting their players etc...but he's sounds completely delusional.

Beetroot Head frequently sounded completely delusional...difference that with Beetroot Head it was usually a generally winning delusional, whereas with Moyes it is a frequently getting spanked delusional :)

AZ played 442 from what I read and from what LVG said

As for Capoue I agree but our perceptions of being creative is creating something out of nothing. The further back you are the harder it is do as the team has more time to react. Tbh Im struggling to judge any of the new signings or even some of the other players as it has been a mess. Also Capoue hardly has played under Sherwood and under AVB we weren't creating clear cut chances. We created the least clear cut chances in the league at that point.

Yea only if Van Gaal wins the league should he consider us. Nobody said a year ago liverpool would win the league, so its not entirely crazy.

They might of, but Dembele I think I'm right in recalling played left wing. Or as a number 10. Never as a conventional striker.

I think people need to get real.

Klopp or Van Gaal ain't coming to Tottenham. Van Gaal is clearly touting himself about to bigger clubs after the world cup if he does'nt get a Barcelona Man U etc type job he'll retire to Portugal.

Let face facts, we haven't got any history of employing reknowned globle coaches/managers and why would they come.

Our best bet, like it or not is to produce our own (internal/bootroom) and stand by it or take another fallen from grace manager.

Van Gaal said he'll come to England or he'll retire. He also wants a challenge. I'd say he's a realistic option. He can retire after getting us to the top and building a foundation that will be continued for years to come.

But those options wont be open to him.. The realistic one will be Man Utd, but reckon they will keep with Moyes a bit longer

Thing is van Gaal does not just want to manage in England, he wants to complete the set by wining the English League. Moyes has been catastrophic; fifth place for Arsenal must mean the end for Wenger; Abramovic did not bring Mourinho back to finish third playing the same boring football that got him sacked last time round; even Pellegrini is going to have some explaining to do if City fail to win the League.

Come season end there is a going to be a job available that is a better fit for van Gaal's ambitions than Spurs.

He's spoken of a challenge. Winning the league with those clubs (other than Arsenal) will not mean as much as winning it with us. We're nowhere near ready to compete, but Liverpool have shown it's possible. United have had one catastrophic season, won't happen very often Moyes or not. City will just put more money in, same with Chelsea. I'm not expecting him to be our manager and so I won't be surprised if he isn't, but he is a realistic option.

When he says challenge, then that could mean anything from winning it with Chelsea to Chesterfield. I wouldn't read too much into that particular word.
