Vickery also said he benefits from wide pitches and deep defences as is the way in brazil
Think he meant in terms of he benefits from playing against defences that sit deep.Argh haha no good for us then. I think this is also part of Paulinho's problem. Brazil's back line and holding two sit quite deep and allow the wide players to do the forward progression. With us, on our narrow pitch and with the high lines, his game is rather poorly limited outside of his brilliant runs into the box.
No different to the Musacchio fanboys really.Oh christ, is this 2014's Bernard?
A young, tricky midfielder from Brazil that nobody has seen play (excluding youtube), but all want him to sign regardless...

This transfer rumour needs something a bit more concrete (more than just a breif mention on skysports) before I get excited, does look the bollocks though. This is the case for a lot of players we're linked with. A lot of those we've signed recently I've never seen in action before bar in the odd European or International game. That's why I'm never keen on passing judgement or simply going by a YouTube video.
Not sure about that, but anyway, its only one mans opinion and Vickery knows no more than you or I when it comes to tactics.True, but that goes both ways. That space is allowed to exist when both sides are sitting deep. If it's true he's a "DLP" type, then he would flourish more in a side in which his own defensive line sits considerably deeper thus opening him more space to work with.
nah this is just the ground work, hes going to be the big rollercoaster of the January transfer windowOh christ, is this 2014's Bernard?

Why would both teams sit deep? You been on that bong again?Haha I'm sure he does.
It's really just geometry though more so than tactics. The deeper both sides sit, the more space there will be available. If in Brazil, the sides there in general sit deeper, then it follows that players in that league will have more space to work with.
But of course, if your point is simply that you're not sure what I'm saying what he's saying, then what I'm saying here is an entirely moot point
Nah, this is 2014's Oscar/Fred (the shakhtar one)Oh christ, is this 2014's Bernard?

OK, but saying "he benefits" doesnt necessarily mean he couldn't play in a more conjested midfield, he could mean "he looks good with all that space he gets in brazil". But yeah, I dont rate Vickery, he has a few funny storys about some obscure Bolivian Club or whatever, but has no links transfer wise. When it comes to tactics he's just a football fan that lives in Brazil, his opinion on that stuff is no more valid than any poster on here tbh. That's what he meant, both teams sit deep, I've heard him talk about it before in other interviews, how in Brazil there's a lot of distance between the defensive line and attackers.
As for his judgment of players he spent last summer saying Paulinho was a better player than Fernandinho, so make of it what you will
