I’m always amazed how commentators near the end games and post match reports manipulate the facts to fit a narrative. So it is with so many posters on here. Accordingly City were clinical and awesome and we were
pathetically poor.
I obviously was watching a different game. We were away to a team who’ve won 14 games in a row, who have not conceded in 6 yet in the first half we gave as good as we got. They had ONE shot on target and that was the penalty. We on the other hand playing against the best defense in the league could have easily gone ahead with Kane’s free kick. Fine margins I know but that’s how many games are decided.
As it was the game turned on two incidents. The penalty that wasn’t and a soft goal. Hojbjerg is clearly fouled before he catches Gungodan. I mentioned this in the Everton game but I fail to see the point of VAR if they refuse to overrule the referee when he’s made a mistake or at least insist he go look at the replay. It’s bullshit to say it’s not a clear and obvious error! It’s either a foul or it’s not. It’s immaterial whether it’s an obvious error or not. Penalty or not Loris has to save it That’s really weak goalkeeping.
Then 5 minutes into the second half Lloris screws up again. A goalkeeper of his pedigree cannot be beaten at his near post so easily. Sissoko also is at fault. He’s too square on to the ball so to see Gungodan’s run when he on the field to block exactly these kinds of runs.
At 2-0 against this City side everyone is aware we faced an uphill task to get back in the game and our confidence went downhill from there.
Positives from the game were:
We defended really well especially in the first half.
Tanganga had a very good game although I felt he was at fault for the 3rd goal by pushing up instead of dropping back which gave Gungodan space to run into and go 1 on 1 with Sanchez. He should be in the frame for more starts at RB.
Bale’s little cameo was encouraging, as was Dele’s to a lesser extent. If they can build on that they could be what we are missing attack wise in the games ahead.
All in all considering the run of form we have been on the last 2 games have been encouraging and if it hadn’t been for 2 wrongly adjudged penalties and ( once again) some poor individual errors we could have had better results
Of course that does not fit in with the agendas of too many posters on here.

There are plenty of defenders who get done by a long, high bouncing ball and a physical attacker running through. I thought Sanchez had a really good game, a lot of good tackles and blocks, passed the ball well.

At least he tried to get back and salvage the situation, unlike the rest of the team, stranded in midfield.

Oh, and Hugo was horrendous today. If we had a better number 2, I would "rest" him.

Defeats and draws are theme at the moment , we have gone from difficult to beat to abit of a push over . Hugo hasn’t helped with his woeful form either

That said the officials had a nightmare today

This is the SC way. You have your opinion, and then anyone who disagrees with you has an agenda.
To be fair, everyone has an agenda. That word doesn't need to have the negative connotations that some people have ascribed to it. I get your point though.

I'm new here but it's a shame that people are being accused for having an agenda because they are voicing the fact that the football, tactics and results are terrible. I'd say we are very much in the majority of spurs fans who feel like this. I talk to my offline spurs friends and they all think Jose needs to go and the football has been terrible all season.

I remember sitting and watching the Southampton game and first half we were so so bad, then Kane and Son turned it around. That is Jose's tactics, rely on Son and Kane to win us the game, if they don't, we have absolutely nothing else. Now Son and Kane have lost form, teams have sussed us out and we have nothing.

I can't believe some can't see this.

We were good in the 1st 10 to 15 mins and the Kane freekick was our best chance.
After that the MC quality shone through. Aside from Kane and Son I cant see anyone even making their bench, such was the gulf in technical ability between the sides. Even their defenders were good on the ball; probably even better than some of our attackers. Cancelo also stood out for me..great physical qualities.

To beat this team we needed our A-game, loads of luck and also something more daring than counter-attack, but it wasnt to be.

All in all this bodes well for the cup final then.

A 70 yrd pass from the keeper and Sanchez can’t read the flight of the ball, come on mate that should be bread and butter for a cb

Could have been worse.
They are clearly a top, top team, literally
Take their time
keep the ball well.
Individual brilliance
We are not.
Tanganga stepped up.
No disgrace today
I'm relieved to say

Lloris 3
Tanganga 8 (MOM)
Dier/ Sanchez 6
Davies 2
Ndom. 6
Hojbjerg 5
Lamela 5
Moura 4
Son 3
Harry 5+
Bale lively cameo. but can he do it...............in Stoke
Dele tried but hasn't got it any more

If the answer is Sissoko at 1 down what the fuck is the question.

Yeah you’re right mate, unfortunately we have a decent strike force for these breaks against the run of play, but we haven’t got a defence that can hold on and defend against decent teams, and we have been found out buy even the bottom teams

Llloris 1 needs to fuck off to PSG
Davies needs to fuck off and try and find a pub team ( at best)
Sanchez needs to go so Davies gets accepted into a pub team

Why dont Jose sit the players down, watch a video of a team as Burnley and say, copy them.. simple.

Get rid of dier Davies lloris doherty Sanchez and we could have Pope and there back 4 and he would still save money and we would have a back bone
We will see our best in Europe this season, Im sure. Once we get a full quoter of players fit things will get better and i feel we will want it . Your wish may come true next season, this sqaud needs putting out to pasture.

Burnley are coached to defend as a unit, it's not pretty but it is effective. I genuinely don't see what Mourinho works on in training as we defend badly and attack with no real fluency.
