This is what we’ve been missing since peak Dembele & Wanyama. My concern is, we don’t quite have anyone to fit in like for like when Hojbjerg is not available. Anyhow, that’s for another day. Today, the team played with confidence, urgency and belief in what they were trying to achieve.
With a front three chosen from Kane, Son, Lamela, Bale, Moura, Bergwijn & Vinicius, so long as we can show discipline and energy behind them, they provide us with the firepower to push most teams.
Aurier has responded to the challenge of Doherty, and Davies appears to be responding likewise to Reguillon, won two penalties this week from LB. Ndombele and Alli appear to be getting into line also. Feet on the ground, one game at a time and all that, but it’s looking promising.
