I like him but don’t we have massive issue with our PL and Europa League squad lists and homegrown quota and the fact we would have to shift non homegrown players out but in this climate how easy is that going to be when even our average squad players, Moura, Sissoko etc are going to be on bigger wages than most foreign clubs can afford?

Seems our squad and it’s make up has got a bit bloated and skewed. If we are going to look at moving on Aurier, Dele and Winks in the summer we are going to have to find some homegrown replacements - Phillips, Aarons and Grealish (I dream) etc.

Few flames as well.

Trying to untangle this statement amidst the ambiguity of the English language.

Is the emphasis:
- there are very few flames and there is no chance?
- the flames are there and could build to a fire?

It sounds like the latter but I am wrong all the time.

Yeah the saying is no smoke without fire, so byflames he's indicating that's its more than smoke! (aka its more than just paper talk I would imagine)

Passes the stat test.. he’s started 7 and come on 2 times this season in Bundesliga and has achieved 3 goals and 1 assist already, and that’s playing as a CM in every start seemingly, as captain too.

As for the eye test, not seen much of him other than v us, but in those matches he was energetic, obviously a goal that, took responsibility for the ball (most important thing in a midfielder) and seemed to have a lick of pace too. Can’t remember what he’s like in terms of moving the ball and quality of passing or technique but I can’t imagine you play as one of two CMs in this very good Leipzig side if you’re deficient in these areas

yeah the words from their president were telling. Something is happening.
I just pray that if we do get him, it’s not to stick in the hole as some kind of pressing forward. While I can’t be certain that he’s a potential CM solution, the fact that he seems to play there in a two man midfield for a very good side suggests to me that that’s where he belongs.

I thought he played further forward than central midfield but if he has been playing there this season and impressing then lets hope he's being lined up for there

Knowing mourinho, he'll play Sabitzer in front three and given specific instructions not to cross the halfway line or make a forward pass in order to mitigate the risk of a counter attack

This guy should be priority signing. Need that Wijnaldum type player to replace Sissoko in the system.
Is that who you would compare him to?

Have not seen much of this guy, but from reading others views, he seems to be an all rounder and has a bit of cutting edge.

If he is of similar levels to Wijnaldum he will improve us.

We need to move a couple players before we even think about buying. I would like Sab though, quality player.
