Infact, that he's managed to have a career at the likes of Milan, Roma and Juve in recent yrs say a lot about how far that league's star has fallen.
Right. Really know next to nothing so went purely on the stats, which don't always tell the whole story. Even then, far from impressive figures really. Still, it seems that at the moment our options are rather limited. I'd assume if we do have any real interest it wouldn't be for him to lead the line. Nevermind JD being one of the departures, he's looking like the number 2 guy, if not first choice striker should we not sign someone else. Not sure even he'd be able to account for that, he did have a good season with Genoa once I suppose. Still it's hardly like he's been considered one of the best in the league, indeed Juve fans were rather furious about his arrival in January and that was only a loan!
Disagree I'm afraid - Saha is much more lethal in front of goal. In the last few years that I've been in Italy, the one thing that I've never been able to grasp is how many teams (and big teams at that) have paid Marco Borriello to play football. That said he is a upgrade on Saha imo and he can play upfront on his own, so I wouldn't mind him coming and him being 3rd choice striker

Certainly less injury prone.Though I must admit I havent seen Marco play since he was playing for Milan and a couple of matches for Roma, I can assume he would be a 3rd choice striker and though he may not be as deadly as Saha he is more fit than him
Italians are a rare breed in the Premiership - few have ever succeeded. e.g. Nicola Berti, Trammezzani, Taibi, list goes on...
But Boriello is a decent squad player. Reminds me of a young Marco Simone...
