This just reminds me of the time when we went to Ireland to visit my wife's family. Her Aunt (mad, old Irish lady) was having a row with another family who apparently stole her father's land years ago in some rigged bet. Whilst arguing with the son of the guy who stole the land it was revealed that the guy's daughter died in a fire - burned alive in the barn on that very piece of land. Her response was "Well, the lord works in mysterious ways!" Finished that argument pretty quickly...
