Gomes 4- Two poor moments for him. I don't know what he was thinking for their goal and the penalty. He did cost us the game.

Hutton 6- Okay game, poor decision making when going forward today.

Dawson 7- Great game considering it was his first game in three months.

Bassong 7- Did well, great tackle in the first half.

Ekotto 8- Our best player IMO.

Lennon 6- Not his best game.

Palacios 7- I think our Palacios is back, great game.

Modric 7- Good game.

Bale 6- See Lennon but he was tripled-team.

Pav 6 - Great goal, but a few occasion in the second half his control let him down.

Defoe 6- Decent game.

SUBS

Crouch 6- Did well, won a few headers.

Keane 6- He ran and ran but not sure if he touched the ball.

Sandro 6- Not enough time.

Gomes - 5 - Good first half, great save from Wilson, poor for the goal, headless for the penalty, good save from it (but awfully struck by Drogba)

Hutton - 6 - Some awful passes but not bad defensively considering they targeted him as a weak link.
Dawson - 7 - Beat by Drogba for the goal but was imperious both before and after.
Bassong - 7 - Solid.
BAE - 8 - Very good, let nothing past him.

Lennon - 7 - Lively.
Palacios - 8 - Superb, MOM, hope the injury isn't bad as he was finally back to his best.
Modric - 7.5 - Always available and pulling the strings.
Bale - 7 - Also lively but was always marked.

Defoe - 6 - Brilliant assist (albeit offside), didn't do much else.
Pav - 7 - Great goal, touch got worse throughout the second half, the sub was understandable.

----------------------------------------

Crouch - 6.5 - Won a few headers, did a decent job.

Keane - 6 - Ran about a bit, dropped very deep I thought.

Sandro - no time.

How is Palacios not everyone's MOM??? The guy was an absolute beast today. The moment when he went nuts at bassong for some sloppy play was pure battling leadership. Welcome back Sarge.

Gomes - 8 - fantastic saves throughout including the penalty. One moment of madness there but he atoned. I don't think he was at fault for the goal. He did everything right. Sometimes the ball just squirms towards goal.

Hutton - 7 - Some fantastic tackles, constantly pushed us forward.
Bassong - 6 - Quiet. Did a job
Dawson - 8 - Fantastic tackles and kept Anelka and Drogba largely quiet with no match fitness. How we've missed him.
BAE - 7- Fairly solid by his standards.

Lennon - 7 - ran hard got into great positions. Final balls weren't brilliant
Palacios - 7 - Pressured Chelsea a lot, one of his better games.
Modric - 9 - Ran the game.
Bale - 7 - Quiet game by his standards but always a threat.

Crouch - 6 - Did OK. A few knock downs and a few nice controls but really didn't influence much
Defoe - 7 - Did well, couple of poor shots. Disappointed for him to come off.
Pav - 7 - Linked up well, took the goal beautifully.

Keane - 5 - All over the pitch. Didn't influence the game at all apart from 1 link up.
Sandro - inc

Gomes 7 - Undoubtedly should have done better with their goal and in conceeding the penalty, but was otherwise very good.

Hutton 7 - Very good defensively other than one slip, offensively not as good as he has been.
Dawson 8 - A rock.
Bassong 8 - Little bit desperate at times, but coped very, very well
Ekotto 9 - Brilliant, just brilliant.

Lennon 7.5 - Poor attacking which is what he's there for. Impressive defensively.
Palacios 9 - Just very, very, very good today. Couldn't fault him really. MoM
Modric 8 - Very good, but didn't boss the midfield how he normally does.
Bale 5 - Very poor by his own standards, poor by anybody elses.

Pavlyuchenko 8.5 - Superb link-up play and scored what should have been the winning goal.
Defoe 7 - Poor playing other than the assist, but his presence worried their defence.

Crouch 6 - The ball hit is head a few times.
Keane 5 - Did he even touch the ball?
Sandro - NET

Not sure how he wasn't at fault for the goal tbh. He does a classic 'Robbo' and goes to ground far too early, and on top of that his wrist action was appallingly weak, he should've beaten it away comfortably.

Gomes 6.5. Two moments of madness, I dont care if he atoned, shouldn't have happened in the first place imo.
Hutton 7. Did his job well, Malouda was a hand full
Basson 8. Was sterdy, made a couple great challenges
Dawson 7. Was at fault for their goal along with gomes, good for first game back.
BAE 8.5. Compossed, good passing, great defending.
Lennon 7.5. Showed a lot of adventure, looked threatening
Palacios 9. Magnificent MOTM, good energy, good distrubution, good challenges.
Modric 8. Played magnificently in the first half, went missing in the second.
Bale 7. A little bit selfish, came in to the game more second half.
Pav. 8. Really looked up for it, took his goal well, poor touch on occasions.
Defoe. 7.5. Ran all day long, closeing people down, good assist for goal.

Crouch 6.5. Didnt really do a lot, felt he was the wrong swap for defoe.
Keane. 6. Who?
Sandro. Not enough time.

Gomes 6.5 - Appalling mistakes, made up for it partially at the end with the Pen save. To me though he looks very shaky atm.

Hutton 8 - Good game again, making RB spot his own
Dawson 7 - Good return in general, got dominated a bit for the first goal though.
Bassong 7.5 - Good game, won the aerial battle throughout.
BAE 8 - One of the games where he turns up and looks a fantastic LB.

Lennon 7 - Started well but drifted out of it 2nd half.
Palacios 8.5 - Had a great game today for us, broke up there play on numerous occasions. Best game for 18 months.
Modric 7.5 - Very good, as usual.
Bale 5 - Looks knackered IMO, needs a rest maybe. Didnt perform today as we know he can.

Pav 8 - Great first half, best goal he has scored for us. Needs to do it for 90 mins though!
Defoe 7 - Not the best game for him attacking wise, but his presence and general play stretched their CB's. Taken off too early

A lot of good performances today but BAE shaded it for me from Wilson, Modric, Bassong, & Daws

Imagine a few years back how a Tottenham team minus so many players would have performed.

Well impressed & still right in there

Gomes. No way on earth should a keeper be beaten in that way however hard it was hit. I would like to have seen(from a better angle) the player who Gomes fouled for the penalty as i thought he looked offside after Drogba played the ball. Good penalty save, cost us three points? Saved us one? 5.5

BAE 7.5

Bassong 8. He let Anelka get a run on him but recovered to make a good challenge and i thought he played Drogba very well when he came on at HT.

Dawson 7.5 Won his usual share of headers, clearances. He was a little unlucky with the goal Drogba has is arm across Dawson which the balls hits but Gomes HAS to make the save.

Hutton 7.5 Didn't do much wrong but just a little more composure when in good forward positions, is needed.

Bale 5. Fuck me he needs to get down off whatever cloud he's got himself on. Deserved all the plaudits he's been getting lately but his last two games average. And fucking hell when you get a free kick in the dying seconds of the game(well all the time if possible) make the keeper have to do something.

Modric 7. Looked dangerous at times worked hard defensively too.

Palacios 7.5 Would certainly have struggled probably even lost the game had in he not played for the majority of the game today by far his best performance of the season.

Lennon. 7 Put some half decent balls across just wish one of the two front men would make a run across the front of the keeper occasionally.

Pav 7. Excellent goal fairly quiet second half but i would start him over crouch everyday of the week, providing he plays like he did first half.

Defoe 6.5 Lovely ball into for Pavs goal and ran the channels well never had much of a sniff infront of goal.

Subs......... Can't be arsed.

Gomes 7- Had a great game. Caught everything comfortbaly, confidently punched everything he couldn't catch. Shame being a keeper can mean your odd mistake can cost games.

Hutton 6- A good game but lacked a little going forward when in a strong position

Dawson 7- Great to see him back

Bassong 7- Good game and made some crucial tackles

Ekotto 9- MOM and by far his best performance since joining us

Lennon 6- Struggled to create when in good positions but worked hard

Palacios 8- Chelsea gave him too much room and he performed well

Modric 8- Worked hard and kept possession well

Bale 6- Double and even tripled teamed, Ferrerra (sp?) did a great job on him

Pav 6 - Real class for the goal but little else

Defoe 6- Worked hard but struggled to make an impact

BAE and Palacios were superb - probably their best game this season.
Modric was his usual outstanding self.

Overall, the starting eleven played well.

Gomes 4 - Shocking today.

Hutton 6 - His decision-making in the final third was poor today.

Dawson 7 - Very good

Bassong 7 - Very good

Ekotto 8 - Fantastic today

Lennon 6 - Good first half, invisible in the second.

Palacios 8.5 - Had one poor pass in the second which could've cost us but overall he was amazing today.

Modric 7.5 - Some poor passes but overall very good.

Bale 6.5 - Bad shooting and decisions today but had good moments throughout.

Pav 6 - Great goal and good first half but he faded early on in the second half with some poor control. He should've been subbed and not Defoe.

Defoe 6 - Lively, should've stayed on.

SUBS

Crouch 6 - Did ok

Keane 6 - Dropped way too deep and contributing nearly nothing.

Sandro 6 - Not enough time

I don't understand why we stopped pressing them after the break. We dropped too deep, gave away the ball needlessly and didn't press enough like we did in the first. Harry must take some of the blame for this.

Ludicrous to give Gomes 4. Yes, he fucked up at their goal. Yes, he fucked up giving them a penalty. But he saved the penalty, and he made some very fine stops that very few goalkeepers will do after him.
