Why why why ...

He'll be lucky to get on the bench with Real's midfield. Isco barely gets a look in and he's and outstanding player, certainly better than Kovacic.
Hopefully Isco leaves and then we swoop in!!!!!! FUCKING OPTIMISTIC

I'd be over the moon with Isco :D.

Kovacic would be stupid to go there, as if he's going to displace Alonso, Modric, Khedira, Illarramendi, Casemiro or Isco.

Agreed. He won't see consistent playing time for at least three years in that midfield, and that's even assuming they don't bring anyone else in (which we know is wrong). If he goes there, I lose all interest in him. I want the Christian Eriksens, the ones who tell Manchester City no because they're far more interested in their own development and the game rather than mindlessly following the big lights like a bug to a flyzapper.

Maybe they are looking to give up on Illarramendi already ? Would be a mistake. If he became available we should at least try...

I just don't feel it gets the best out of Rakatic. I would just play him behind the front man, and let him go where he wants, he was deadly for Sevilla this season. Then have a pure sitting player alongside Luka. Keep Kovacic as the impact sub.

The best three players don't always make the best midfield combination. I don't know if they really have a holder to come in though.
I agree with giving Rakitic more freedom. But I don't think Croatia's problem was the midfield yesterday.
