Eriksen came out and said Spurs never made him an offer which left him the choice of staying at Brentford or going to United. I didn't feel disappointed at him for his choice for that reason even though it is a shame to see him at United. I hope Poch's attachment is as strong as it seems and he turns down to Chelsea but he's not going to be unemployed forever and it's a shame we aren't interested.

This is probably more directed to what I see being posted on Twitter but..

I understand loyalty but at the end of the day Poch was sacked by us (rightly or wrongly, depending who you talk to) and has every right to talk to another club. Esp. one that is generally a top 6 Premier League club based in London, where he spends time.

I know it's not apples to apples but we literally sacked him at the end of the day. Yes there is always this underlying narrative that he should come back, but I don't see why he needs to turn down every position that us as supporters wouldn't like.

I also don't think if we do have any sort of plan, abandon it to hire him and appease some of the supporters just because another club is chatting to him

Anti Poch? So anyone that doesn't think he's the best choice is anti Poch? My personal opinion is there are other options I'd rather we explore despite loving him for what he did for us. Am I anti Poch in your opinion?
Which other options?

Chelsea have held initial talks with Mauricio Pochettino over the manager position at Stamford Bridge.

It is understood the former Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham coach is one of five candidates at this stage of the process.

Sky basically reporting what was reported by the telegraph yesterday. Cheers sky, keep up ffs.

Paratici (who if I remember was quite anti poch in the last manager hunt) gone, the talk with Chelsea, and the spiralling feeling of doom around the club.....maybe pave the way for a classic levy panic and poch return?

I know some wouldn't love it but I really don't think the club should panic. I would rather Munn (who's rumored of starting early) and Levy build their relationship and decide on a new DoF together. From there they move forward.

I personally would like to see Poch back with us, but if there's more against his return than for it in the set up (which may now be without a DoF) then I wouldn't want them to panic and hire him back with no basis. Poch to Chelsea would also open up Nagelsmann (who seems to be the front runner anyways), which many would probably gladly take to lead us.

where is it rumoured that Munn starts early?

Bring back Poch and his mate Ramon Planes as DOF after removing Paratici. I don’t think he has signed for Betis yet?

Yeah tbh I don't get the outright anti-Poch stuff at all.

Like, sure, he didn't win anything and it got a little messy towards the end, but he's still the best thing to happen to this club in 30 years. Just feels weirdly contrarian and petulant to me. Acting like spoiled Chelsea fans.
I think it's this weird need that people have to he one extreme or the other.

I love Poch. He's the best manager we've had in my years supporting us and given me the best times but I don't think his return would end well atall tbh

But last thing I'm gonna start doing is downplaying his achievements while he was here.

Are you banned from the next manager thread?
There are loads of other options rather than returning to Poch, many of which (for me at least) are far more appealing.
No I’m not banned from that thread. I’m asking trix specifically which other options he would prefer over Poch, that’s why i replied to him specifically…

Since you’ve replied though, which ones would you prefer personally and why? I’m not in the Poch over everyone else camp, although I’d be happy to see him back, it would just be nice to have some more detailed explanations as to why people would prefer them over Poch specifically. Not many seem to be sticking their neck out is what I’m saying

Personally, I just want something new and fresh.
As much as I love Poch for what he did with us, I don't want him back yet because I still think he's got things to prove.

I'm all for going down the Slot, Kompany, Postecoglu route. Someone who'll see us as a step up and a big opportunity to prove themselves. Someone with new ideas who'll also give youth a chance.

That's possibly my biggest thing at present, I want a manager that will work with the academy and show some of our young talent that it's worth pushing on because there is a pathway there.

We've proved that we're not going to compete for the big signings, so we need to be looking at bringing through the young talent and for that, we need a manager who will take the lead.
Poch was never very good at bringing the youngsters through, after his initial clear out and while I understand that it's hard when you're competing at the higher levels, we lost a lot of talent because of him.

I'm ok with it tbh. That last year was utter pants and he was involved with wasting a lot of money. If he does the same at Chelsea happy days.
And I think inspiring young, hungry players (which he is good at) is a long way from dealing with a bunch of over paid, egotistical dick heads. I think he'll fail there.

Very good points and I feel where you’re coming from. I think I’d be pretty happy with Slot or Kompany too for very similar reasons and I too feel really strongly that our next manager must be one that trusts young players. I guess the main reason I’d probably be quite happy to have Poch back is because we know what we’re getting, there’s no doubting he’s a top manager, whereas I don’t trust the board to make the right decision on an alternative. Like I say though, I agree with the points you’ve made for sure and I hope for similar things from our next boss

Oh mate, you and I both don't trust our board to make the right decision!
There are some really interesting options available at the moment and while there are never any guarantees, I'm just in the place where I think the board will end up choosing the worst option
What have we become?!
