Recently rediscovered this vid of one of my favourite Spurs moves ever, and as things are a bit slow I thought I'd put it up. Hope no one minds. It's of Mounir El-Hamdaoui during his brief spell with us. Sadly, Robbie was offside, or it would have become a classic Spurs goal.

As many on here doubtless know, Mounir has become a star in Holland becoming Dutch Footballer of the Year in 2008/9, and scoring 50 in his 89 games played for AZ Alkmaar (2009/10 season - 19 in 29).

Injury prone, and generally considered a bit lightweight, he was not a success for us, and spent most of his time either on loan at Derby or on the physio table. Went on a free to AZ Alkmaar in 2007. Over the subsequent years he has been linked with Liverpool, Arsenal, and Barcelona but nothing has ever come of the rumours. Although desperate to return to the Premiership, he is currently the subject of interest from PSV for about £6 million.

A nearly man - but what skill!

Apparently Rodrigo Defendi used to score bicycle kicks for fun in training too!

It was a great trick though.

Picked up injury after injury with us and on loan at Derby.
He was clearly very talented, but asked the club to let him go as he wasn't happy in England and wasn't looking forward to a year out of football while being unsettled in London.

I still claim that Keane wasn't offside btw ^^
and that we were robbed of one of our better goals ever.
Difficult to see on the clip due to lack of quality and how fast it goes,
but try to pause it when the ball leaves Hamdaoui.

I have actually just stopped that several times at the point where it leaves El Ham's foot, and Keano is actually more-or-less level.

Try it.

Yeah, it was fantastic...how old is he now:shrug:

one of those players i always thought that we gave up on too early, but then scoring a bag full in Holland isn't exactly the premier league

Yes, I think that the LB is just playing Keane on.

El-Hamdaoui is 25 now.

yeah look at Kezman when he came to chelski, was a big flop and could not handle the pace or physical game that just isnt present in the dutch league

I'd like to see him back in the Premiership some day, just to see how he could cope with this league. He's shown he's a fine player in the Dutch league, so I think he should be looking to step up into a superior league now to test himself.

Careful, anything with Robbie Keane in gets slated as he left us after a brief 6 year stint...

Thank God I'm not the only one who did that!!!!!! You do realise that we've just spent time and effort trying to prove a pre-season goal was onside. Who says we're obsessed?

It's time and effort well spent though. Spurs fans are rightly acknowledged the world over as being upright seekers of truth, bringers of light, and righters of wrongs. It's our birthright and our cross.
