He is a creative player. Has a nice eye for the pass and his dribbling ability is pretty near elite. It may be worrying to some, but he reminds me of Dembele when Moussa played for AZ Alkmaar. That close control on the ball, the ability to really cut through defenses and set either himself or others up. I think Depay has more of a footballing mind, though. He knows how to lay off a pass when he gets in behind to square it up to another oncoming attacker in the box. Depay does have a tendency to shoot on sight which can be a good thing at times but also frustrating (He's at least accurate with the long range efforts, but he will take shots from bad angles). He completes about 20% of his crosses which is above average.

Most of the time when I've watched he has gone central, playing on the attacking side of midfield. Last season, PSV deployed, for the most part, an attacking three that consisted of Ruiz (RW), Locadia (CF) and Depay(LW). They had plenty of good talent in midfield that would often provide support on his side to double up in attack (similar to how Man City do with their wider midfield players to support the attack). He was used as a way to link the deeper midfield to the attack. PSV generally run a 4-3-3 and with that protection in midfield his responsibilities tracking back are generally limited because of the necessity to keep the attacking three more forward. I'm not sure if it's fair to comment on his ability to track back. Also, the Eredivisie is such a different league to what the PL represents (most of the teams PSV face, their attacks aren't really going to force a whole lot of pressure, in turn the attack can play more advanced and the value of tracking back to break up play is limited). It'd be interesting to see how he might fare in a pressing system like Poch's. I'm simply not sure how it'd work out in terms of the defensive duties.
Does he have much Pace? From the You Tube vids I have seen, he looks to have a similar speed to Chadli.

For those that don't know what sort of player he is, did you not just watch the World Cup?

Imo there is no chance that chadli would agree to go to PSv. it is a huge step down for him and would hurt his career too much. to another PL club there is a chance , but not Holland.

There are people on here who think that Chadli has something about him based on a couple of moments last season. By the same token, I think you can draw some conclusions as to the quality of a player based on 3-5 games in the worlds premier competition. Those who think Chadli will be mustard after Poch gets his hands on him, imagine what he could do with Depay.

Who: Ali Z
When: 6/8/14
Where: COYS

Re Mateo Musacchio "Hearing this is very close and we expect this happen quite quickly"

Re Depay "Deffo some truth in this, Saints have told us we deffo not getting both so looking at alternatives, not saying it is going to happen but it could."

There's only one way to decide.......

But I think its safe to say that Pochettino isn't stupid enough to play Chadli in central midfield where he had his longest run in the team last season. I wouldn't mind the manager giving Chadli a chance off the left for the first few weeks of the season. If he does well, then persevere with him, if not then we can offer him in a deal before the end of the window.

Might be irrelevant though as pochettino could have already deemed Chadli not good enough.

This is it. When Dim played Chadli as a second striker for a spell last season he showed some good form. I remembering him being our biggest threat against Benfica in the Europa league and he had a few more good games around that period. Then for some unknown reason Dim in his infinite wisdom decided Chadli was better served in defensive midfield. And he became totally ineffective.

I think there is some ability there, and he interacts with other players and works harder than the likes of Townsend, so I hope Poch does give him a chance.

Sometimes he does, but on this occasion I agree with you.
Not just him though. This particular case has shown just how lazy and downright unprofessional a lot of journalists are . Take a look at the Newsnow Tottenham feed and you will see just how many have written it up as almost a done deal. Clearly not a lot of checking info and verifying sources going on.

I'm glad as well.

Would rather J Rodriguez in January and put all our effort into MM and MS this window.
