It’s funny how some just have a default comment of just saying how poor Eriksen has been. Like you haven’t even seen the match, just saw he started and needed something to say so reached for the stock ‘Eriksen has been poor’.

Not saying he was great but he was far from poor. One of our only players who had control of the ball was able to execute a pass.

Hopefully Jose is coming around to the realisation that Alli is not with pinning his hopes on.

Lamela and LoCelso did more in their cameos than he has in the last three (full) matches
I think now is the time to cash in on Ali while we can still get a good price for him. He flatters to deceive and he is a lazy player and gets caught in possession so many times that puts the team under pressure.

Getting caught out time and time again with the long quick ball over the top.

Three of our last 4 conceded have been from this due to playing a high line and trying to play off side or just being caught unawares.

Now, I think it's important to note that these players have been playing a high line under Poch for such a long time now, plus most of them have been more suited to it. But what we relied on was two rapid full backs who would often sweep up. Aurier is certainly not that type and Toby/Jan are getting slower.

Jose said he wasn't going to change too much, therefore I think he's decided to not drop the high line just yet, least until he has had serious time to work on it. It's not something that can be coached quickly as you need your defenders to approach a game differently plus you also need a DM who is really good at screening since you will be playing deeper and more likely to face shots.

When playing a high line you need your misfieksrs to be aggressive when losing the ball and shutting down passes quickly, unfortunately we are not. Which means we've got long passes coming over, no fbs sweeping up and cbs who can't get back quick enough.

Poor compared to what we have seen of him when he is committed. And poor for sometime. Shall we do the first man corner count? So he averaged a 5 or 6 today. Compared to his previous few years where he regularly was 7/8.

so yes. From a player who was the hub of our creativity. And ran further than any other player. He now just passes it about a bit. He is poor.

Zero composure, everyone shits themselves when they've got the ball, ball control shocking, passing shocking.
Also some of the corners I thought someone like John Terry would bury but our players do a half hearted jump (that's if the corner beats the first man)

Distinctly remember in the first half, Dier had a great chance to put a ball in, loads of space in a dangerous area, and he completely over hit it, if one clip could sum him up for me it would be that. The nearly man.

Lol the point is he isn’t playing any worse than anyone else. Singling him out because he dared to say he wanted to move on is just a bit childish really.

I won't be going, can't be Arsed to spend more money when it's clear the Board aren't prepared to invest in the team.

Another poor performance, lack of quality football especially up front & Eriksen simply shouldn't be on the park. He doesn't want to be there & it shows in his play.

But why is getting worse through time ? The first few games under him were better
Because there is always that little blip when a new manager comes in but that was just papering over the cracks. People are far too impatient these days. Good things take time but the trouble is that modern fans expect everything to happen yesterday.

His in-swinging corners either hit the 1st man or went straight out of play on the other side of the pitch. Out- swingers went into the middle but a good 2-3 foot above the maximum leap of our players.

The amount of games he’s won us in the past with assists and goals is huge. 2016-2018 he was pretty phenomenal.
You're preaching to the choir here. I literally said:
And I say that as I acknowledge the qualities he does have and how he's played in the past for us.
But it's been 5 years. And Poch couldn't bring himself to sit him and DL was more than fine not spending money on competition. So the same dynamic for 5 years. And we wonder why we've stagnated. And if Poch was still here and we were still doing fine he would still be playing and DL would still be happy not to bring in competition.

I want him gone so we are forced to evolve and not because I don't think he's good enough or deny his contributions in the past.
