It's doing the rounds on social media that Dean said "out of the title race, unlucky". Anyone know if there's any truth in this? I.e. has it been leaked by someone at the club or a FA source?

I really hope he comes out of this looking worse than Poch - would justify his actions somewhat as I would have done exactly the fucking same!

Good news that he had been removed as fourth official from the game on Wednesday. Hopefully we won’t have him refereeing one of games for along time

Totally dumb planning by the ref’s association in the first place to name him for this match.

A ref should not be involved in any team’s 2 consecutive matches because if there is any controversy, it’s magnified instantly.
And does the ref no favours whatsoever, as well as both teams.

The refereeing system needs a giant overhaul, introducing VAR I feel might actually add to the problem with the way some of these refs carry themselves.

As long as once VAR starts Mike Dean isn’t sat in front of a screen doing our matches:whistle:

No, because if it had you would have heard about it other places than SoshittyMe.
Whatever he did say, Mike the Queen shouldn't referee any top 6 matches for the rest of the season. In order to preserve his credibility, what he has lost is credibility. And hair.

Can't stand the man - annoying and frustrating that we're forced to deal with officials like this!

He already has...He's been removed from our match vs Chelsea, and Poch hasn't been charged with anything, which he would've by now, Lee Bowyer has already been charged for abusing the ref in a match which took place after ours.

Poch has been charged with improper conduct

edit: charged with 2 breaches of improper conduct, apparently it continued down the tunnel

I actually wouldn't be surprised if he said something along the lines of that...or 'bottled it'...

Dean has been taken off of our game on Wednesday too. He's no longer the fourth official, so the FA can't be happy with him.

With any luck we will find out what happened anyway as all refs microphones are recorded nowadays.

Dont know if they arent happy with him or if it would just be awkward/unprofessional for him to be the point of contact between the ref and the managers.

If they didn't charge Poch then it'd be a straight admission that their ref had said something questionable. I doubt we'll ever find out what, unless Poch appeals any punishment.

Can’t remember a time when the FA or Refs turned on an official. We’ll never get to hear that recording and Dean will still be reffing matches for years to come.

don't they have to retire at a certain age, I'm hoping it's when they are 50 as he turns/turned it this year
