Think we should stick to our guns. He clearly isnt in favour and they need the money. Not going to let a 50m assist sit on the bench, think they will blink first
I wouldn't bet on that, he started the last game for Inter, and they could do with keeping him. They need the money, in a FFP sense, but they have a lot of wealth behind them so holding out makes sense for them, particularly as he has Kolarov ahead of him, who is no spring chicken.

I think Inter wont significantly drop their valuation. He'll have a part to play if he stays. Personally, I think 50m is absolutely worth it for him, but this isn't a priority signing. I'm very happy with the window and if we pass on this, fair enough. We've already had quite a transformation this season.

Hard part is that Inter want to spend the money, so I don’t think this one can go right to the end.

If we really like the player, this is the best price we’ll ever see for him. I get that we’ve got a bit of a cash crunch, but it’s short term. Uncle Joe should be there as a backstop.

We will absolutely have to spend at CB over the next few seasons. Toby will go over the cliff at some point and I seriously doubt whether Dier and Sanchez are good enough to be a true top 4 backline.
Apparently Jose really likes him.

We will see what happens, but I believe this deal isn't over yet.

would be icing on the cake if this gets over the line but I’m not particularly bothered if it doesn’t

I mean, I think Dier and Sanchez are currently both better than Toby as it is. Toby gets a very easy ride here based on very good past performances.

I think we could do with a young CB to challenge for Dier and Sanchez in the future, hopefully to be better than them. Dier is still readapting to the role and still has a lot of developing to do, Sanchez is still very young for a CB so he has loads of room to develop. I do think we could do with one and Skriniar would be a great addition.

With the cash crunch, we don't really know how short term it is, and how deep it is, so it is wise for the club to exercise caution. But, I do believe that Inter have set a fair price on Skriniar and it's up to us to match it, we would do exactly the same.

Alasdair Gold’s latest video seems adamant we’re going to go back in for Skriniar but a CB isn’t essential and we therefore won’t be held to ransom

We do appear to be taking a very hard line on this. We have a price and we don't seem that interested in budging.

I have this image of Steve Hitchen sat in a room saying 'Trentadue' and every time the Italians disagree or say anything else, he just sets this going. When it stops, he says 'Trentadue' again and waits for their answer.

If they break by Monday, we have ourselves a player. If they don't, we don't.

The funniest thing to me is both teams want to play hardball, but I definitely know Conte is going to have an absolute shitfit if they can't bring in more players because they don't have the money because they won't sell a player that he doesn't want to play.

It may be a better longterm decision by the club to keep Skriniar, but in the short term I can't see how Conte doesn't have yet another meltdown with the board.

It’s about time he let his hair down and tried to relax.

He's in Inter's squad for their game tomorrow.

If we're planning on submitting a good bid we clearly haven't done it yet.

Appears to be a 13m difference in Valuation. If the player is keen and the club willing to negotiate I fail to see how this struggles to get over the line.

Let's say for argument sake, Inter wont budge. Are we really putting our foot down for the sake of 13m when we're getting a very rare chance for a world class CB that Jose wants. Its abit weird really...

The funniest thing on deadline day will be us signing Skriniar for less than what Inter wants, and United signing Sancho more than what Dortmund initially asks for.

That's the thing with Conte. On one hand the guy has been a big success absolutely everywhere he has been, what he did at Juve was unbelievable and Italy he did very well, took a struggling, but talented Chelsea to a title and that was the last good chelsea team, and what he has done in Inter is very good. And end up thinking how come this guy doesn't get linked with the Real Madrid jobs or the Bayern jobs in football. And then you remember.

The guy has no filter and has absolutely no issue with with starting fights with the board. In Inter he isn't even that popular with fans, in part because of the Juventus history (though players and managers always rotate around the biggest clubs in Italy) but in part because he seems almost to be doing counter-intuitive things for the project. Things like not playing Eriksen and Skriniar, asking for workman-like players like Vidal, I think fans are not that behind it. They've mega money owners who have invested a lot, and Conte's picking fights on the players they are signing and asking for players that don't excite fans.

It's not a sustainable situation at Inter. But it might not even be a sustainable situation for Conte, as regardless of his successes he is beginning to really develop a toxic reputation.

I see our team as a midfield 3 myself and I think we tend to go, DM, CM, AM and would put Hojbjerg, Ndombele, Lo Celso in those 3 roles though Ndombele and Lo Celso can seemingly do both. I see Skipp as the backup DM eventually which is probably why we won't buy anyone, Winks as backup to the CM role and Dele as backup to that AM role, though I think Dele would be better competing with Son for the left role.
Fair enough, I basically agree but I think for me it's Hojbjerg, Ndombele and Lo Celso with Winks, Sissoko and Alli as their "backups" so to speak.

Well if that’s what Ali is saying then that is arguably as good information about the current situation as we are likely to get. I think Sunday and Monday will bring a lot of opputinism a lot of crazy deals. So I think anything could happen. I reckon someone will come in late for Danny.
