As the thread states, interested to know who everyone thinks is our most improved player (after Kane, who is the obvious choice for this and for Player of the Season).

Added a poll (including only players who were at the club last year and excluding players out on loan and players like Kaboul/Friedel, who have barely featured).

Will be interesting to see the reponses.

FWIW I've gone with Danny Rose, who I totally wrote off after we signed Ben Davies. I think he is looking like one of the best left backs in the country now and is absolutely ideal for the way Poch wants us to play.

*Also, it was 5 years ago today that he did this: https://www.facebook.com/premierleague/videos

2015/16?

Edit- It's between Mason and Rose for me. But I'll go for Rose because he is undisputedly our Number 1 LB, whereas many people (myself included) had Davies in their team at the start of the season and most wanted him sold.

Saying that, Mason wouldn't have been in the squad for most people at the start of the season.

I'm not sure again.

I chose Mason. The entire battle Rose vs. Davies resulted exactly like I thought, so I'm not a bit surprised. I am however very surprised over Mason, thus my vote.

For 2014/15... ;) ... I don't think its much of a contest here. Rose by some distance. I was one of the few, amongst the absolute tonne of what was often shit that was said about him, who said that if he sorted out a couple of things then he'd be fine and would win the spot from Davies, but even I have been surprised with his turnaround.

Voted for Rose, looks like a totally different player to the one who so often went missing last season.

Not really sure how anyone can vote for Mason when his form has steadily declined since his 'flash in the pan, omg its a spurs yoof, this kid is messi' debut.

Rose gets my vote. Mason are the biggest suprise, but unlike Rose he isnt good enough to start for us on a weekly basis.

I think it was @thinktank who was absolutely convinced Davies would be Number 1.

Am I right?

Most of those players are candidates for "Most declined player 2014/15"

Forgive the fact that there's no antonym for "improved"

Not sure Bentaleb's improved at all really, I'd be tempted to argue he's actully regressed
That's so knee jerk dude. He's in a patch of bad form right now, other than that he's been one of our best and most improved players under Poch

You had a lot of people chatting absolute shit. From those who had obviously not seen Davies play more than maybe one game and a couple of YouTube vids who would emphatically state total bollocks about how he played and what his strengths were, such as that he got forward as much/if not more than Rose etc. etc. etc. and then there were the ones who'd be analysing Rose's demeanour and the faces he pulled - I remember a discussion from the pre-season tour where the discussion was that Rose had a serious look on his face, whilst all the rest were smiling, so therefore he was obviously a complete **** and a disruptive influence and he should fuck off ASAP.

Stuff like that.

Im not sure Rose has improved drastically but rather regained the form he had at sunderland and improved on that

I think the fact Rose was hated by our fans has clouded their judgement for instances a couple of comments he made on twitter were taken out of context, people blame him for us not getting CL(when he got sent off against villa) and etc.

He was poor last season but the fact he isn't liked made things made it twice as worse

Rose has been great this season. I was frustrated with him last year, not due to his attitude as I liked how he carried himself around but it was the same reason Walker frustrates me that he got into great attacking positions and just absolutely wasted it, so negated all the effort made to get there. Exemplified by his infamous cross to Sherwood. This year however his end prodcut has improved so much not such his crossing and passing but the way he attacks spaces and gets in the box constantly providing an option and his never say die attitude. As beats1 says it was how he played at Sunderland but slightly improved. He has also chopped in with goals, but his cross for Chadli's goal shows how his end product has improved.

Hard to say whether Mason has improved as we have nothing to compare him to in the league but he has been a welcome addition to the squad.

Definately rose, was there with my boy on Saturday (his first spurs match BTW) and rose was the only stand out player we had and my lad got his autograph after the game!

Rose has gone from a consistent starter to a good consistent starter. Well done, he is having a great season. Mason has gone from not being even known by many fans to a consistent starter. That step is much
larger and harder.
