Just one of those things that catches the eye. I was reading some footie news and stumbled on the fact that former Tottenham player Mounir EL HAMDAOUI leads the Eredivisie in scoring with 14 scored in 13 appearances. Not too bad, probably could've used him this season... Jol had a good one there, not sure why he's bounced around a bit. Good on him - best of luck matey.

P.S. Anyone remember that spin/drag highlight move in the "Peace Cup" friendley a few years back?

Only player Arnesen wanted to take to Chelsea apparently. A spurs player back in the day (can't remember who) said he was the most technically gifted player in the squad. Got home sick. Good luck to the fella

Yeah, he did look the business when I saw him. Great touch and equally good shot on him. Most players look good in the dutch league though dont they.

I went to see a game in the Eredivisie about a year ago. Had a bit of trouble finding the place so I missed most of the 1st half. Still, by the time I left the stadium I was 4th top scorer in the league. I'm not saying it's easy or anything but...

The dutch league might be poor. But I think people sometimes exaggerate and quickly write a player off just because he is doing well over their, it must suddenly mean its the erdevisie and they would be shit in the EPL.

Im not saying el hamdaoui would do well here, but I think huntelaar would have been a good purchase. He proved he was more then capable at club and international level (dont start giving me this Baros and Healy shit please), and his record really is second to none. I think he'll be a major hit at real because I see enough in him as a player to suggest he can be.

We have to remember as well (Fat) Ronaldo, Ruud, Robben, Van Der Vaart, Schneider and Babel also came over from the dutch league and did well. Although Kuyt, Kezman & Alves may have not lived up to their name, for every bad player that looks good in holland, there is also one or two that do extremely well and prove to be great purchases.

Providing he starts regularly when fit, I think huntelaar will bang the goals in left, right and center at madrid and prove to be a terrific long term replacement for RVN.
