All being well and Eriksen has found his motivation again, they could sell him for £50m+ in a couple of years.
Levy will want some of that in a sell on clause.
I think if we get anything it would be a miracle. We are not in a position to make demands.

Because it seems he has switched off on the whole whilst on the pitch many months ago rather than play like he used to until the day he departs.
Yeah I agree with you but I didn’t state his level of professionalism (that’s a disclaimer)

Sometimes as humans we can only do so much. Have you ever given your notice to an employer? Did you give the same effort in during your notice period as you did prior to that? Some people do but I would hazard a guess and say most don’t but at the same time you won’t disrespect your manager.

I’m not going to hide the fact that I like him as a player and will always appreciate the good games he’s given us but clearly it’s time to move on. Let’s do it amicably and if he can let him a get a few pennies in the process then that would be great. Remember though, he’s not obliged to

I doubt we'll get anything for him. I imagine this is the club trying to drum up an acution

But as for CE - I honestly think he's burnt out.

He's been playing at full pelt for six years, barely missed a game in that time (for spurs or Denmark) and was has been one of only a couple of world class and irreplaceable team members - the fact that Poch and JM have tried to ease him out, only to realise we still need him says a lot about how highly regarded he is still, and how talented he is.

if he was that negative an influence he'd be nowhere near the team. While his performances haven't matched his first five years, Poch said he was recovering from an injury, which has no doubt impacted him

The issue we have is a lack of strong CDM alongside him, and other deficiencies across the front line.

Dele's drop in form, Kane's injuries, Moura's inconsistency, lack of width and overlaps from full backs after the decline in quality in those areas, have reduced his effectiveness, and forced him to play a deeper role. Remember how often he used to interchange in the wide areas and further forward - look how much deeper he's playing now...it's reduced his efficacy, but in part it's due to the poverty of the team around him.

He's not blameless, of course, but he's a human at the end of the day. I, for one, will miss him when he's gone, and only then will we realize how luck we have been to have him

Great post. Agree with you on the "burnt out" observation. He'll be far more productive with better quality around him.

I think if we get anything it would be a miracle. We are not in a position to make demands.
The alternative is he goes for free in the summer.

Here's a philosophical question: How much is any player worth?

Lots of things would be weighed up, I imagine, but one of the factors would be how much clubs have paid for the player in the past. If a player has a purchase history of £10m, £20m, £30m then anyone would think there was genuine value here and this was a good investment.

A pattern of £11m, £20m+ (including sell on), then £40m-£50m is a reasonable story. And attractive when you consider that a motivated Eriksen is as effective as players selling for twice as much.
If he has a blot on his purchase record, then regardless of his form, his value will be questionable when Inter try to sell him later.
And this is important to Eriksen too, as his salary is part based on his value - not for this move but for any following move.
