Keep watching. Nothing is over and out. Smokescreen possibly going on. Sorry I cannot be more specific. But it could work out to be a very pleasant surprise. Not Poch surprise.
🤞for the pleasant surprise then now my main man Slot is off the table.

Best case: JN back in the frame with a good DofF to support

Next best: Big Ange 🇦🇺

Likely: Amorim, Glasner, Galtier, L.Enrique, Potter, Rodgers etc.

We shall see… 😅🤷‍♂️

I can only think of two reasons this has happened.

1. We thought the reported 20m contract buyout was excessive and refused to pay it.

2. Feyonoord simply convinced Slot to stick with the project after what had been built for the last couple of years and champions league football next season.

Very frustrating. But what will be, will be.

This is utterly shambolic. I was hot for Slot, thought of all of them it'd be a tap in hire. To have him now - at the very least - playing hardball publicly makes us look totally clueless.

I'm not gonna pretend that I'm not gutted about this. For all the world this looked like it was gonna happen and had such a good feeling that he would be the right appointment.

Feeling utterly exasperated by this club. We can't do anything right.

So they didn’t want Poch back, didn’t want to interview Nagelsmann further and can’t attract a manager in Slot from the Dutch league.

This is worse than the search of 2021 because of the quality of candidate available. It must be utter chaos behind the scenes. They’re going to fuck it up well and truly. Is anyone really surprised?

Well that's disappointing news. Still plenty of talented managers out there, but seemingly the two that we started with at the top of the list have turned us down, and we've chosen not to pursue Poch for whatever reason.

So we're now into the 'yeh I'd take him if we can't get.....' section of compromises and risks.

Just one day etc...

I suspect they quoted us the 25M "fuck off" price and we duly obliged, which I understand even if I don't like it. I suppose my questions and concerns are:

1) Could we not have gotten to this point earlier? It's been 2 months since Conte got sacked and we only now found out how much our supposed top target costs?

2)...now what? No Poch, no Nagelsmann, no Slot, no Kompany, probably no Amorim. I don't even know who I want at this point.

Not that it’s a real shock, but THFC board is a shambles. 2 months post Conte and the seemingly number 1 target doesn’t want it. As much as so many on here against it, they should have turned to Poch. Him going chavs next week whilst we’re struggling to find anyone, is just going to twist the knife even more

Levy is really struggling isn't he? It's not good.

He can't even deny we wanted him after stupidly making sure the world knew he didn't want Nagelsmann it wouldn't make sense to have tlet this roll on for so long.

Were financially in a different stratosphere to them so the fact he couldn't get this done is a very worrying sight.

I'm hoping it panics him into giving Nagelsmann full control to take us down that German model because after this public rejection I don't think he can afford to go to a clear third or fourth rate choice.

Or his family are settled over there and didn’t want the upheaval. It could very well be personal reasons that are completely out of our control.

That ‘news’ can’t be dropped upon Spurs without us having a clue it would happen. I’m hoping the club is ahead of the curve and we’re still close to appointing someone. Slot seems to have some integrity and I don’t think it would look like a complete lie on his part.

Can't wait for the inevitable "we weren't interested in him" leak from spurs now.
