I always struggled with anxiety and so when I see it creeping into people's post here, I try my best to show how I rationalise myself down from insanity, I actually worry people will find it condescending. It's not because I know better regarding football, I clearly don't, that's why I haven't said we need this or that manager this time. It's just because I know what letting anxiety run rampant does to your health.

The problem with that approach is always and I mean always, when the insanity is proven right, it increases anxiety tend fold. So that's why especially when it comes to Spurs, we should I think avoid being dismissive when people show those anxieties but instead try and reason with it. It never comes from knowing best in terms of outcome because if there's one thing that supporting Spurs has taught me, it's to never be confident you know an outcome but it's for our own sanity to try and reason things down even if it ends up going the other way, at least we didn't let ourselves worry about it for 2 weeks.

In this instance I'm disappointed but I'm not panicking because I never decided that Slot was the only answer, I thought that we would get him but I knew the world would keep spinning if we didn't. If it's done with him then onto the next one.

The Celtic manager sounds good, Nagelsmann I still have some concerns with micromanagement but as has been pointed out, might have been a Bayern smear campaign. De Zebri, we don't know for certain he's unobtainable. I still think we're not in Nuno territory yet.

Meh on Amorim for me.

Not gonna lie barring JN everyone else is a lesser option now IMO. Doesn't mean someone else won't work out and I will back whoever it turns out to be, but I'm now going to be underwhelmed.
You’ve just been ‘convinced’ by the endless amount of pro Slot info which has grown and grown. I didn’t even know of the guy previously and now it’s the worst thing ever.

Lets face it we are not an attractive choice for any top manager. No CL or probably any European football of any level plus the financial restrictions Levy will make in any discussions so why should we expect a named manager with a good track record to want to come to us. We can't keep saying "but look at our stadium" other than that we don't have a lot to offer. Slot has CL football next year I couldn't see him giving that up for us and anyway he's still relatively young so if next season doesn't go to plan he can move on if he likes, but not to us. I can see another Nuno on the horizon so might aswell give it to Ryan. Ther is no Slot and there certainly wont be any JN, Brighton are flying high so their guy isn't going anywhere. With no CL money is going to be tight so any new manager will be told to sell if he wants to buy and unfortunately nobody wants to buy what we have for sale other than Kane, so it just gets worse. I honestly think if we mess this appointment up we're in trouble

We've a squad full of average players, deficiencies in some key positions and I think only 2-3 players maximum who get anywhere near another first 11 of the top teams.

If this appointment is a disaster then we'll struggle next season.

It's not just getting the right manager though. It's shifting a fucking shit ton of deadwood and actually buying players who improve us. And I can't see us doing that either.

I'm not surprised though. We make hard work of simple transfers let alone trying to appoint managers from other clubs.

Where on earth are you finding optimism in Hercules' last post?
Oh apologies, read something about a possible smokescreen and that there might end up being a pleasant surprise (not Poch). Maybe I was looking at a very old post!

Is there any link to us returning to DoF's that were previously Nagelsmann's choice(s) per chance?

Really clutching now granted but I'm struggling to see the next move this club makes otherwise.

De Zerbi
Alonso
Kompany
Amorim
Pochettino
Slot

Nagelsmann (tentatively)
Gallardo (fucking please!)
Postecoglou

Outside of this, Jesus......
Jesus is nailed on…… (Sorry)
