I think what sounded promising about Slot was that it appeared he was a people person, along with the youth aspects.

I believe that these players need a manager who understands the human element of things first and foremost, Fergie is the archetype. We need a manager who gets these players to believe in themselves.

If I'm very honest about this and I don't mean this in an attack on Levy, I think this is merely a personality thing and it's not his fault. I have concerns that he doesn't fully appreciate or understand that, nor is he a good judge of that. The reason I have this concern is based on a few things. The story (so conjecture) that he rejected Ten Hag with alleged claims of lacking charisma. The big one though is the fact he got sucked in by the Jose Mourinho show. Then also the approach he took in trying to connect with Ndombele, it was well intentioned but it's about knowing what the other person needs rather than what works best for you. So I have concerns that he isn't a good read of personality and for me, the personality side is the number one skill that our new manager needs to have mastery of in abundance.

I hope people can see the difference between having a pop at Levy and simply having a concern related to his sensibilities. I'm sure we've all experienced managers who were promoted based on their capability in their field that had terrible understanding of how to guide other humans.

This is why I felt Slot was a good fit and it's why, despite my adoration of Gallardo and how highly I rate Nagelsmann, it's actually the Celtic manager who I want to hear we're linked to.

On the bright side we now avoid that awkward moment when someone in the crowd yells "Oi you bald **** get out of my club" and Arne thinking it was directed at him...

Amorim has previously said he wants to stay at Sporting. If he sticks to that, then the list of managers who have made it clear in the last couple of months that they don't want to be at Tottenham reads as follows. If only we could divine some hidden meaning from this list of names, something that, if enacted, would help us attract managers of calibre to the club. If only...

Slot
Alonso
Conte
Kompany

De Zerbi
Amorim
Nagelsmann

Has Slot played us? Have the club baulked at Feyenoord's asking price?

Doubt we'll ever know the truth. Both sides will spin their own truths.

One thing we do know is that club leave themselves open to all this conjecture and ridicule by not controlling the narrative and taking an inordinate amount of time to make decisions. They lack decisiveness and a plan.

For a brief moment, it felt like we were about to be back on track. Now we are left wondering where this will end.

Jokes aside, I think if we end up with Nagelsmann or Amorim there will be one positive at the very least and that will be that we haven’t flushed 80m down the drain on wingbacks. I still believe Spence, Porro and Udogie are very good prospects and making the most of them will help the next manager greatly, because our budget isn’t going to stretch to new Fullbacks, GK, CB’s and AM/RW’s. We’ve had Emerson Royal and Ben Davies as our best performers at wingback this season, that says a lot. Amorim would know how to get the best out of Porro for a start and Udogie looks superb going forward, we can still make a good appointment here, a manager that plays a 343/352 and gets the best out of those guys will be on a good path in my view
Not meant as a criticism of your post but these points were all made about Conte as far as wingbacks are concerned. The club is in desperate need of something fresh and new, not a variation on a theme.

As we saw with Poch, good coaches can elevate existing players and bring through others through youth promotion or the transfer market. If Udogie and Porro are good enough then they will find a way to operate in any system, but to recruit a coach on the basis you’ve stockpiled wing backs is the wrong priority.

Nothings certain with Tottenham . What if I was to say he wanted to sell the big boys to recreate the next team and levy said no ! Unfourtanlty if someone wants to come here it doesn’t mean they will always come . Visions have to align . Levy’s seems to have a different vision to every manager out there currently.

Well Kane's leaving anyway so...

Hijack Poch from Chelsea - it's the only way to reverse the pony PR at the club, cheeky little moral victory for the fans, bit of payback for Willian and all that jazz.

Nagelsmann is right there. For me, he's always been the right one and we should be doing anything to get him in with a dof he can work with. We've had strong interest in him before and he's on a plate for us now, I just don't get what is going on with Levy and the people running our club. It's so deflating and us fans, who are loyal as fck are always the ones left in the dark and suffering.

Makes you wonder if he's better at beating the PR cycle than us (wouldn't surprise me 😂). I really liked him and thought he'd be good for us but I will wait to see it play out.
My nan is better at beating the PR cycle than us and she's been dead for 10 years.

Where did Amorim say he wants to stay at Sporting? Genuine question.
