We don’t know the ins and outs of what happened with Slot, but all I do know is if any other top 6 team came in for him it would of been done already regardless if there is a buyout clause. That’s the difference between us and the others. They get it done where as levy always thinks he knows better. As I said at the beginning a leopard never changes it’s spots, so I’m not that surprised by this.
No, the difference is 2 league places. We are not a top 6 team right now.

I fully expected various click bait headlines around the appointment of Slot, but the quotes are a killer.
Either the deal is dead or Slot is Sol Campbell levels of dickhead. Neither particularly palatable.

Amorim is such an unimaginative pick. ‘His team beat Spurs, he must be a good manager.’

I’ve not got a good feeling about Nagelsmann.
Oh dear, what a mess.

This is the unabridged quote

"I hope the Tottenham fans don't misunderstand me but it was only there that I was unable to create a bond with the square, perhaps because there was Covid and the stadium was empty, or perhaps because the presidency didn't give me the chance to play a final that we had conquered on the field. I'm connected to every club I've coached except Tottenham ."

"During conversations with various sources over the last few weeks, a recurring theme has been the idea that #thfc are a manager’s graveyard.
It’s been suggested that some prospective head coaches have looked at that and been given pause for thought."

Christ this is grim.

I've had concerns about this for some time. We're not as attractive a job as our fans seem to think.

We have a reputation that is now set in stone of not backing managers. We hired two of the most successful coaches of this century and they both not only failed but have nothing good to say about how we operate.

Watching Pochettino at his peak not only failed to be backed but for us to not sign anyone at all. That's damaging to our reputation.

It's not just the managers that have been here. Ten Hag, Fonseca, Gattuso, Nagelsmann - do you think these managers view us positively?

Top level football is a tiny industry. Like any industry however, people will speak to others about their experience engaging with an entity before considering taking the job there.

The fact that we struggled to find a manager in 2021 was the first warning sign that our reputation was in the gutter. This search is further confirming it.

We're going to end up in a situation where like Conte we have to pay managers large sums of money on short-term contracts to entice them to come. That's not how a club like ours should have to entice managers.

As we continue to bumble about and suffer these high profile rejections, more and more managers will stay far away from us.

When you take off your Spurs-tinted glasses, we're not an attractive job.

Biggest blunder done by Levy was not Poch sacking or even hiring Nuno....

Biggest blunder IMO was sacking Mourinho a week before cup final. We never got a proper reason from club for it. To sack Jose a week before cup final is unpardonable, the one thing he could have made a huge difference - the one thing fans crave for...Levy for whatever reason did that blunder....

Why would any reasonably good manager looking at that , will warm up to us ? No wonder, Jose is still pissed at our club management

No point trying to justify it mate. I've been very vocal all along that Slot wanted to come but already a few comments on here laughing at what I've said because apparently now he was never interested. I'll say it one last time for everyone, SLOT WAS VERY KEEN ON JOINING US!
Nobody is laughing at what you said mate, we appreciate what you pass on. It's the situation itself that is laughable.

That all makes sense to be fair. It will get spun this way and that but it’s probably right.

Not for this thread. But the last part of the quote is wrong.
I suppose it kind of is for this thread because if the environment and conditions which Levy creates is cold and unsupportive with a lack of vision and ambition then it’s no wonder why we are essentially being rejected or struggling to appoint any half decent manager left right and centre… AGAIN!

Another option if we decided not to pursue so he came out with the "Didn't even want to leave" rhetoric.

Still a mess, but another view of the mess.

Why? Villa sort their mess out in less than 6 months.
Also Newcastle were down the bottom before Howe. Get the right manager and things can turn around pretty quick. I honestly think the talent is there but we haven't seen it because we haven't had the right manager for this group of players.

I do wonder what other potential managers will think seeing both Nagelsmann and Slot seemingly pass on us. It really isn't a ringing endorsement. Also whoever we go for now will know they are essentially 3rd choice.

Rodgers’ (and Potter, same agent) agent hates Daniel Levy, won’t be happening
Everybody hates Levy, but we’re still gonna get someone in. At this point I’d rather they just wait until they find a DOF and let him find some unknown coach who has a vision. They aren’t going to appease the fans with whoever they bring in. Just blow this whole thing up and reset.

Slot, Naggelsman and Poch were all the right managers. The right manager will not work under Levy

If you're a manager with anything about you, you unfortunately go nowhere near Spurs with Levy in charge.
He's poison and the years of not supporting and pulling the rug from under multiple managers has finally come to haunt him.
The only manager we get this summer is someone who is desperate and has nothing else on offer
