RDZ compensation is £21m so was never happening.
Not that I'm advocating RDZ coming in, but why? I know why you are saying it, but it makes zero sense you'd be willing to shell out 40 mil for a player suited to manager you know is leaving and doesn't really fit other systems. Yet baulk at half that fee for a manager you believe can answer your problems. And if you don't think he is the answer, and so not worth the money, then why the interest in the first place?

It's a thoroughly ridiculous train of thought.

Trying to talk myself into Ange

But the truth is if it’s not JN or Slot, we are basically throwing darts at a board and honestly, both Emery and De Zerbi are probably better.

so we’re looking at having an inferior manager to 8 clubs in the PL, at the least.

I've not been able to follow this thread, is there a consensus forming as to what caused the deal to collapse? If it was really down to Levy's unwillingness to pay a few million in compensation to Feyenoord, it's a fucking farce.
Having followed various sources this week, this is what I have put together.

It was widely reported that Slot had a £5 million buyout clause in his contract. However, what was not reported was that this kicks in next summer, not this, so Feyenoord were in a position to ask for whatever compensation they wanted.

The amount rose as further coaching personnel from the club were added to his requirements to move to THFC. Which according to today‘s news, came up to the £15 million mark, which came as a complete surprise to Levy and Co.

The reason I find this a plausible explanation is that we are talking about a club/chairman whose ‘due diligence’ process failed to spot a tax investigation of someone he then appointed as Football MD. We are talking about a club that was unable to count to eight when adding up its overseas loans and so had to cancel a player contract in order to allow him to leave for free to comply with regulations.

We are talking about Daniel Levy, rapidly falling from his reputation as ‘best chairman in the Premier League’ to a byword for administrative ineptitude and cloth-eared incompetence. He has no qualifications in either sports administration or coaching, and he’s being found out.

Starting to feel like kicking-out time at the pub/club when you have yet to hook up now…
In that case Big Ange is a ten-to-2 at best and as for Rodgers, he's the pissed rough fat girl who wakes you up after you collapse outside the kebab shop and tells you she is lonely tonight and to come home with her

The slot thing makes no sense, how can you ask for compensation of say 15m when he is on a contract worth nowhere near that, also why come straight out if your slot and say you are staying, why not let the clubs negotiate and then see, to come out the next day and say your staying and not even see how much we would pay makes no sense
Also I don't but the he was using us to get a new contract either, whatever they pay we would probably double and he has nothing else to do in Holland as he won the league

I honestly believe he wanted a full rebuild rumour and levy can’t see it

Exactly so levy throws away 100 million for one season

Because there is no way right now his staying
1.Really not sure we'll get £100m
2.Kane not going to push for a move.
3.With out Kane, who knows where we will finish..... Let alone get into Europe!
4. And this is the kicker..... If Levy don't want to sell, Kane has no choice....

It to simplistic to say Levy throws away £100m.... To many variables attached to Kane staying next season.

I don't want Kane leaving. Rather he go on free, just opinion and preference. But if the right manager comes in, wants to sell. As I've posted previously I'd be gutted but suck it up and hope we find some even half as good a Kane...

Honestly not excited by any of the names being banded about.
Yep. It’s a kinda of alternative universe at spurs. I cannot fathom a positive upturn in events, currently. We’re like builders that talk a good job, but can’t complete the attention to detail that homeowners crave - first fix is good but the rest is a bit meh

I don’t believe it was the money, it was more football direction

Webb going on radio stating how levy pulled out of deals, Ramon Vega saying agents talking about not wanting to work with spurs, Mourinho calling us the MrLevy club. Spurs looking pretty toxic out there at moment.

The last few minutes of the Sky Ramon Vega interview were absolutely spot on, " Daniel Levy and the rest of the board need to start trusting football people"
It's on You Tube, you get a sense that he's more in the know about how badly the structure is on the football side.

United will spend 100 million, they believe real, BM want him

They also have a fan base to appease

But aren't managers looked at very differently to players who are more like assets?

Not very often managers are "bought". And the average tenure for a manager in the PL is something like one season isn't it?

Maybe that's changing though.

Out of interest what does Bayern want for him?
Like the rest of us ‘levy’s head on a platter’
( this is a joke btw; using dramatic license and using the analogy of Johns head in the bible)
And the ‘I’m sorry I haven’t a clue’ oft phrased line:”Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia” …
