I hope Conte stays and is backed.
But for this thread, some info from Germany.

Tottenham not a serious option for Tuchel - Sky in Germany

Former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is not interested in the Tottenham job if Antonio Conte was to depart at the end of the season, according to Sky in Germany.
The 49-year-old is currently learning Spanish since being sacked by Chelsea in September and is hopeful of taking charge of Barcelona or Real Madrid in the near future.
Good.

Seems this thread is more relevant now, after Di Marzio update....

I dont want Poch as next manager but do agree we need a project oriented manager - back to square 1

My choice : Vincent Kompany.

Completely transformed Burnley. From shite team shite playing style to, great playing style. Its not like he bought his way out. Burnley owners sold 72m of players in summer and only gave him 24m to reinvest.

He personally brought in 3 city youngsters, 4 obscure players from Belgian league.
Now with Muric in goal, they play out from back - style just like City. Slow & steady , 63% possession (2nd behind Swansea in league). And on par for 100 pts finish.

IMO, he would suit us perfectly. Of all the recent pros doing management in football, he has got the most pedigree & world class potential

Was literally about to mention Kompany. I think he’d be such a smart choice.

Having both Kompany and Toure at the club would be interesting for sure. Toure could set up youngsters to play the way Kompany wants. But it would be too much future planning for our boardroom I think.

Not sure Kompany would want to join us, bad for his career path, better to get promoted with Burnley rather than jump into deep water.

I doubt he would nor we would take the risk of hiring a manager just after a good 3/4 season in the championship

In addition to this he’s also won and captained his side to PL titles so he’d command respect from players. Also, unlike Conte and Jose he always has come across well in punditry and interviews so from a media and fan perspective he would be liked. I think he ticks so many boxes if we had the nerve to start again.

Why would he not, wouldn’t be my choice at all but we’re not awful.
granted we’re not in the best places flat the moment but I don’t think it takes much to change us.

Us and Chelsea have the wrong manager , I’d swap them in a heartbeat .
Completely agree, said that for a few weeks now.

Trouble is imagine if we did that tomorrow, in 18 months time they’ll have a few pieces of silverware, and we’d still be debating whether Levy has backed Potter or not

I may be deluded and nostalgic, but I went for Poch. Its not the manager we need changing its the people running things. I'd rather have Poch back than anyone on the above. We played some decent football under him and let's face it, we aren't winning anything any time soon until Levy and Co are gone or change the hiaracy

Now it's Spursonal

If we’re stuck with Levy/ENIC, then the only manager I think that has a chance of scraping some sort of success with us would be Marcelo Gallardo.

Loses his top players constantly and rebuilds on a shoestring budget to keep winning trophies.

I am against Poch reappointment for 2 reasons :

i) Poch hasn't done much after he left us. He shockingly lost the Ligue1 title first season and won the ligue1 title by default. Ofcourse he comes back managing bigger egos. But certainly not on top of his game

ii) Nothing much has changed on the ground within Spurs. Yes, we can reinvest in squad now that stadium build is done. But its dealing with same old people. Things could turn sour quite quickly in these situations.

Only way a Poch comeback makes sense is, absolute written commitment from Levy to give Poch backing in way he wants. And this is never going to happen

Don’t know a lot about the South American leagues but is his shoestring buget still more than those around him?

I am fairly certain it will be Poch when Conte leaves. There're so many Spurs fans who clamour for Poch's return, Levy will pull on their heart strings and survive.
