Falk is such an odd source. He acts as a Bayern mouthpiece and gets a lot of stuff from their board, but is very hit and miss on other rumours. Sometimes he nails stuff and is first to know, other times it’s absolute waffle. So who knows what to think… need another source to corroborate I think first
I think (choose to because I want to) that he is right here

Look at the snidey nature of the tweet, like he can't believe Naglesmann would lower himself to us. It's like he didn't want it to be true but also wanted to be the one to leak the story.

Of course it’s daft, but when emotion takes over sensibility tends to go out the window.

If you’re a Poch fan, see him doing well at a fierce rival while we’re struggling, there’s bound to be negativity about what if.

It’s not necessarily right, but you can see how it might happen.
But then you get behind the new guy. It's like when Campbell left and went to Arsenal - we had Ledley and we all got behind him straightaway.

Completely appreciate and accept everyone's opinions re Poch. I love the man, gave me my best Spurs years, but he isn't coming back. I don't take the continuous talk personally as if I'm being ignored, I just want to save people the disappointment. From my end, he's never been part of the discussions. I have many criticisms of the club, but it does at least seem they're trying to find the right kind of manager this time around. If it was someone outside of Nagelsmann or Slot I would personally be very surprised. I've said for a good while now that I feel it would be one of these two but obviously things can and do change. For example it looks as though I was wrong re Poch to Madrid. That was a very likely possibility a few weeks back and Ancelotti was on his way out but it looks like that may have changed hence the Chelsea rumours. If he goes there, best of luck to him, just don't want them to completely ruin him because I've met him a couple of times and he's a bloody lovely guy. Don't blame him one bit if he does go there, what do we want him to do, stay out of management forever?! Slot is the one for me, he's desperate for us and to me that's pivotal. Nagelsmann is of course a very attractive proposition and I would be very happy, but for me Slot is who I want. He also has the right kind of personality a fan base could get behind.
I just really hope the fan-base get behind Slot and are patient with him if he's the one we pick and Poch goes to Chelsea.

If Poch starts strongly and Slot has some dodgy results then many fans will be jumping at the chance to stick the boot in and say we backed the wrong horse.

It will be difficult but we need to ignore the temptation to compare everything the new manager does with Poch and just focus on getting our own house in order. If Slots the one we pick we need to give him every chance of succeeding and try to create a positive feeling around the club, not let everything get poisonous simply because we didn't hire Poch.

It’s classic transfer rumour forum stuff - albeit in a different forum. No new news will lead to drift and loss of focus - but also the perception that lack of public progress is also a lack of actual progress (which is hardly ever the case)

Not to mention that (certainly the people I follow) Spurs Twitter is very “#PochBack”.
I noticed that It's like some kind of religious fervour Not sure if PSG or even Saints fans would understand it
Ps Shame about the arse

I do wonder if we’ll start hearing Ange’s name again now that Paratici is gone and Munn comes to the forefront.

He’d probably be the easiest to convince although sounds like Slot is keen.

He has previously talked about how much Nagelsmann liked us before he went to Bayern and that we’d be a good match. Don’t think Falk looks down on us. Think he more can’t believe what’s going on haha (neither can we let’s be fair)

I'm all in on him, think it's a perfect match.

Doesn’t seem particularly likely to me that Falk, being so closely tied to Bayern, would have the first clue about what their former manager is thinking/doing.

Feels a little like 2+2=5 (so I guess it fits well in here at present…)

There does indeed seem to be a bit of ‘snark’ in that tweet however, but I don’t really see why that should be the case. They sacked him - it’s not like he quit and did them dirty…

He does have good connections around Bayern in particular like you say, so you’d have thought he would know someone in Nagelsmann’s entourage over the last two years.

If he’s genuinely interested in us, then that changes things for me, but I’d be worried he’d be stringing us along with PSG coming up.

Coming back to this thread I was on page 844… it’s a great page to sum this thread up tbh. I read it as Amorim is actually who I want for the job, and I’ve explained why a few times, but honestly read that page for a true insight into the way forums work 😂 it’s basically numerous people explaining Amorim to be a front foot, defensive, pressing but sitting back coach, who’s like Conte but controls possession, who has wing backs and so is pragmatic but apparently attacking….

There’s so much info and insight available via YouTube, it amazes me people still judge managers managers based on things like “but he plays three at the back” 😄

Yep I hope we’re not going to hold on to hear his decision and potentially piss off Slot/Enrique/Kompany in the process. Let’s be decisive, for once in our recent history…

I'm really really bias but if I were him I'd choose us over PSG. We like to to say we're a mess but that is a coaches graveyard and the squad is impossible to implement any style of play beyond what that front three want.

Here he will get players much more open to his ideas, he will have much more say in transfers, still has a superstar forward line but our ones are far easier to manage, gets to play in the best league and will still get top wages.

Basically does he want to be the main man in a club looking for a main man or a patsy in a club looking for the latest fall guy in exchange for a league title nobody will give him any credit whatsoever for winning.

I'll tell you who should go to PSG and I think succeed there. Mourinho.

Personally I think Pochettino and chelsea is potentially a disastrous mix, I don’t think they’ll give him two seasons to turn it round for them. There are a lot of players there they’ll need to move on, probably half a billion quids worth, while he integrates and develops the younger players. I think it’s interesting and I hope, because I hate chelsea more than arsenal, that he takes the job and it blows up on them. I say it because I love him - hate me if you have to.

By the way, he’d have to start from scratch at Spurs too so I’m not sure it’ll be his dream appointment either - but he’d get time here.

Agreed on both counts. Conte to Roma; Jose to PSG; Nageslmann to us.

Bayern need to be paid a compensation fee for whoever signs Nagelsmann, so I’m confident they’ll be kept in the loop.
