To be honest we're not that different to Chelsea. This club is a shitshow

I feel that the chelsea rumors are just the press moving from one link to another without anything really happening. Now that he's out of the race for the chelsea job they need to link him to someone in the PL

We are a shit show, but it's not the same shit. With Paratici gone, and a new football CEO (or whatever his title is) JN may see us as a club he could help mold, maybe have a say in the next DOF.

Based on the ITK, the board have been broadly split on the next manager, but I would imagine they could all agree on JN, most of the fan base would be behind him and if we could announce in the next week/before summer it could give the squad a boost.

Tactically flexibility is a huge plus. I think Bayern are just on a down cycle. They're coming down off Lewandowski and just too many easy years of dominance.

I'll admit I didn't watch Pep's Bayern much, but I did read and hear that he messed around a lot tactically. Basically used how easy the league was to try lots of different things. A more knowledgeable person than me could probably make a 4000 word Athletic article out of looking at things he tried there and his new City system.

All this to say that trying things with elite players is smart. Pep did it. Negelesmann did it. Sacking him hadn't led them to anymore success.

As long as the next manager works out the best system for our squad then I'm happy. Rather than just be bloody minded and use players limitations to prove a point.

Isn't falk the lad who does the green tick thing as his version of here we go? While I hope his info is correct now I have seen a number of good journos take the piss out of him. Don't think he's the most reliable

I would suspect that if this is true (IF being the key thing here) then this should be fairly swift from here. JN is the ideal manager for us at this point.

I changed my avatar to Nagelsmann when he was fired by Bayern and then once Chelsea sacked Potter I assumed he would go there so I switched to Slot. Now JN is back in the frame. What shall I do????

I'm all over the place with my preference and easily swayed. In one day I went from wanting Gallardo, then Slot and then Nagelsmann.

I agree with H88 that Slot wanting to come to Spurs is a massive thing. We aren't his second choice and he would be honoured to coach here. On the other hand, Nagelsmann has not just jumped at the chance to manage us and assessed his options and now we are now his preferred (?) destination.

I still favour Nagelsmann for his experience and variety of system. We have a fairly mismatched squad and I think he would be able to utilise it better.

Could be wrong but I feel our chance of keeping Kane and maybe agreeing a new contract hinge on the manager and a more elite such as Naglesmann over Slot may be preferable

From what we hear about Nagelsmann pulling out at Chelsea, he didn't like that he'd have a lot of tasks outside of the training ground. He just want to coach the first team, not run the entire club in a traditional English way. In other words he'd prefer having a Director of Football, and he'd work with "club signings" - though I'm sure he'd demand them being in the image of his playing style. Sounds like two parts that would come to an agreement if they begin to talk.
I think the failing to bring in players he actually wants, and buying players he doesnt want, will be the big hurdle. That and the fact we dont even have a DoF at present and our star player is more than likely off. Apart from that I bet he cant wait to get on the Levy Love Train.
Personally I think he'd be mad and we've no chance.

Since he was sacked by Bayern because they were worried about their treble, they’ve since gone out of the cup, out of CL and currently losing in the bundesliga.
Hopefully Bayern having a moment of madness is to our benefit.

This is the main reason i've changed my choice to Slot. I get the feeling that JN would be on the shortlist should any big job come up. As we've seen in the past this can ruin player mentality and application if they think the coach isn't committed.

We cannot exclude excellent candidates because they might be wanted elsewhere. That would be fucking insane.

Not aimed at you personally, however, I know we've been scarred by the last two managers, but we really need to stop this self-flagellating, self-hating "woe is us" mentality.

We need to get the best manager available to us and if that a big name or a relative unknown then so be it.

Levy playing 5d chess mate, we never really wanted Tuchel.

The new ground has mold?

Levy won't be happy about that.

Nagelsmann is a generational manager.

I like Slot but there’s no comparison IMO.

Slot would have been someone we appointed back in 2014 like Poch.

We now have the infrastructure to try and compete with the big boys and I hope we go for the best young manager on the market.

If Nagelsmann is interested then it has to be him.

Yeah, but I keep seeing people on this forum saying that Arne would slot right in so I’m torn…

Nipplesmann so publicly turning down the Chelsea job is clearly his first PR step in getting approval from Spurs fans

Mug off those ****s and come to the mighty Spurs Julian

I’d be rather chuffed with either Slot or Naglesmen…. So obviously going to end up with Brendan
