Just need the club to do something, show some leadership, be clear with the fans.
What we are, what we want to be!!

The instability is killing us.

Make a decision and have a plan please.
exactly this. We have no clue from the top down. Hopefully they have a plan, regarding wanting attack minded managers..as per our DNA..but if not Slot..then i have no clue who they want, and i dont think they do either

It's more a view on those who say the Dutch league is shit, therefore Slot will be! The guy is thought of very highly!
With regards to the Eredivisie; you can only beat what is put in front of you.

However, ETH went out and beat the best in Europe with a youthful Ajax side playing some stunning football. I don't think there were any real doubt's on his quality. Most on here were shocked to hear how Levy decided he wasn't the coach we needed.

Slot is far more of an unknown quantity. Yes he's got Feyenoord bossing the Eredivisie, but we don't know how his football translates to a bigger stage. We are picking him up earlier in his coaching career than ETH, prior to Ajax ETH had more years in management than Slot has now.

There's a lot to be cautious over.

For those that are excited about Slot - consider that 6 months ago, people would have been universally underwhelmed if Levy had replaced Conte with Unai Emery. There would have been cries that a club like Aston Villa were his level.

Emery has loads more experience, and success, at this level than Slot. Yet, we have lowered the bar so much that Slot looks appealing to some.

Ten Hag had 326 games managed at that level.

Slot has 156.

I don't think Slot is the best manager available for the job. He may be the best manager that we can get. But if we had different ownership, who were trying to win - we would be aiming much higher than Slot.

Conte was the best manager available once upon a time. Jose, too. Forget about names.

Slot just doesn’t get my juices flowing.

Feels like a marriage of convenience, as opposed to passion or romance.
It feels like he will/would bring a vibe that we have been missing for a while. Whether he would be 'the man' or a bridge to someone else bringing success in the future, I don't know but I feel more positive at the idea of him being appointed.

I agree he's a bigger risk than Ten Hag was, but Slot did get to a European final and won the Eredivisie with a squad miles weaker than any squad Ten Hag had at Ajax.

Like if you watch Feyenoord the individual ability of the players is absolutely miles worse than the Ajax teams of recent years. It's a minor miracle they're going to win the league this season after they lost like 10 players last summer.

This appointment just speaks to the total poverty of ambition at the top of the club.

We tried to bring Conte and Jose down to our level, and now we're finding a manager who will be comfortable operating within constraints and with few expectations of making demands to do what it takes to win

Seeing the breaking news on sky about Poch... That kinda touched a bit of a nerve. I guess it's just weird because clearly we are looking for a Poch 2.0 and he was the original.

Anyways hope he fails. But we best fuckin succeed.

Emery doing well or not relative to the perception of him on here doesn't have any basis to justify Slot to be the wrong man for the job. If it does anything it strengthens Slot's case against those underwhelmed

No manager is going to win, unless they are consistently backed by the chairman.

Period. Until we change the chairman, its just a managerial merry-go-round.

This is true at all clubs. Even City. Pep would leave if City ever decided not to back him in the transfer market. Klopp did not start winning, until he was backed in the market. Arteta did not win until he was backed for several years in the market.

If Levy continues to think that the players just need a new manager - then we are fucked. The new manager needs new payers - that are suited to the style the manager wants to play.

Ok, I'll bite.

What has Slot done at this level to justify that he is the right man for the job?

The guys going to win his league, got to a European semi as well as over achieving with AZ, he’s had consistent achievement over a 3/4 year period. He isn’t a one season wonder plucked out of the the Saudi first division.
