so we dont appoint the manager we deem to be the best fit over €10m we then spend another say €100m hopefully on signings for a manager who is less of a fit and end up wasting it on players the next next manager wont want when the manager who isnt the best fit inevitably fails.

We are so clever with the way we dont spend like the other clubs. Fucking idiotic wankstain levy.

Yup - you just have to strap in for the ride and see where it heads - no point getting so worked up about it.
think a big part of it is that regardless who walks in the door they'll be gone again within 2 seasons for the same reasons predecessors have failed

As usual we lack consistency. Unlike with Nagelsman with didn’t get our denial out in time. Just to confirm. We were never interested in Slot. Or any other manager. We have no interest in talking to anybody or appointing anybody. We have no interest in football in fact. Nothing to see here.

You wonder how a seemingly intelligent man like Levy (the board in general) can keep on repeating the same mistakes over and over and over and over without learning, and adjusting, and implementing a different method.

He just applies pure chaos in the hope that somehow we come up smelling of roses, and is then shocked when it inevitably doesnt.

Quite worrying.

To be fair, he’s still getting away with it.

I hope to heavens that isn't true. that is doable given the inco e Europe produces. don't take up the option on one kf our shiny new players ffs.
It makes no sense that we would not pay that for the most key component in the team but we could drop the equivalent on a punt like Joe Rodon.

Classic episode of Daniel Levy being penny wise pound foolish. I think Jack Pitt-Brooke said it best “Does this make Slot this year’s Paulo Fonsec

This saga is getting exhausting. I hate comparing to other clubs but it is very frustrating to watch this approach. Yet again another scattergun approach.

Historically, the one thing we do spend pretty big on is managers. So unless there's something concrete, I'm not going with the lazy narrative of it being Levy not wanting to pay out.
Really?
Whicxh manager have we paid big on to pay for their release? We have paid big wages, yesm buit that is different.

Don’t get this refusal to pay 20m. We are happy to pay that sort of money for average players who never perform. The manager is the most important signing we can make.

If you identify him as your prime target, the man to transform the club and team, then the money should never be the main sticking point. How much has Levy himself wasted on pure shite? He continually makes mistakes.
Yeah v.short sighted given how much we were happy to spaff on Jose and Conte's contracts.

As always with Levy, it's opportunity cost where he falls down. He'd rather save 5 million now but we'll end up paying god knows how much more more down the line when we end up backing then sacking a worse manager.

Imagine if City or Liverpool had turned their noses up at Klopp or Guardiola cos of the cost? If you truly believe in a manager you pay the money because they're the most important person at a club.
