I know a lot of you will be disappointed with Ange and understandably so. He isn't a big name, comes from a tinpot league, isn't young (or bald for that matter), his nationality isn't from footballing pedigree, he doesn't look good in high-end knitwear...the list goes on.
But he has been my clear no. 1 pick from the start, he is a shockingly good manager and imo the perfect guy for the job, not least of all because he really does galvanize an entire club with his force of personality.
There are a few others I have seen on here who also seemed to be clued in on him. What I am utterly convinced of is he will transform us into an exciting attacking team very quickly - his teams play scintillating football and at the very least will get everyone enjoying watching the team play again.
I'm not for one second saying Mason should get the gig cause I'd opt for Gallardo, Nagelsmann or Amorim over him.
However, the benefits COULD BE huge.
Mason knows what is required at the club, he knows the exact kind of character we need and will want to head in the right direction in terms of playing style.
I think he'd opt for young players who are breaking through and look to mould a team similar to how Poch did but around the brilliance and experience of Kane. Bit like England.
I do think Mason has a bright future BUT he has a long way to go. That would mean we'd have to be very very patient as we'd have some very bad periods but there would be green shoots.
And when I say patient, I mean 2-3 years. It would be very similar to Arteta at Arsenal.
I can certainly see what you are saying. I still feel like I'd like him to get a bit of experience elsewhere rather than us being his 'proving ground' but who knows what the board are thinking. It would be painful and there will be plenty of moments where we'd have to resist firing him. But the upturn could be great and we could get our Tottenham back.

Not over Ange but certainly over the likes of Potter, Rodgers, Glasner, Galtier and some of the other uninspiring lower rung names being mentioned. With the recent discussion lately, would people prefer Mason over Ange?
No harm to you but I think this is utterly bonkers. Not over Ange but certainly over the likes of Potter, Rodgers, Glasner, Galtier and some of the other uninspiring lower rung names being mentioned.
However we started this new manager search with in theory all of these names who surely we could’ve hired one of if we nailed our colours to the mast so if we do end up with Mason or a lower rung choice that just reflects so badly again on Levy:
•Naglesmann
•Poch
•De Zerbi
•Slot
•Big Ange
•Amorim
•L.Enrique
•Gallardo
Thats 8 very exciting options i whilst I don’t think Mason is a terrible idea, to go from that list to Mason or a lower rung option is such a bad failing and shows that Levy cannot plan and execute and that players and managers are turning him down left right and centre.
I don't disagree to a certain extent but how long is the waiting list for a season ticket? If people don't renew, always someone else that will take the opportunityI see it differently. It's an expensive option for Levy!
Fans will be furious and plenty will not renew season tickets as it shows no ambition.
It has more possibility of going very awry. Which means no European money etc etc.
May be harder to attract players.
Mason will probably want to kick out at least 8 players.
So it won't be cheap and it'll be very risky.
Cheap for Levy is 'safe'.
Bigger name coach, less change around, short-term gain.
What do you mean times up for patience?Times up now for patience
every day that goes by with the two jobs vacant exposes utter incompetency. Season over, no excuse
Absolutely fucking NOT!With the recent discussion lately, would people prefer Mason over Ange?
It is a cheap option. How you can try and sugarcoat that as not cheap and brave is beyond me.Spot on
Hiring Mason would be very risky and people saying it’s a ‘cheap’ get out option is bs, Levy spent tons of wages on Conte & Jose, hiring Mason would actually be a very brave option not ‘cheap’.
I totally agree.I can certainly see what you are saying. I still feel like I'd like him to get a bit of experience elsewhere rather than us being his 'proving ground' but who knows what the board are thinking.
I think the wait and see bus has passed. It’s been 60 days? What do you mean times up for patience?
Not really, perhaps wait and see, and not lose your shit before you know what's happening.
If Kane is on board, just give the job to Ryan Mason and starting working
Out of everybody we're currently being linked with those two are genuinely the last two I'd hire. I don't rate either at all. With the recent discussion lately, would people prefer Mason over Ange?
