Funnily enough when all the bets and odds were flying around for Slot, JN etc, the only bet i actually got around to placing was on big Ange.

So at least if it comes off it'll pay for some (much needed) Spurs related therapy...

Got a feeling you’ll be getting your winnings. Drums are beating pretty loudly for him.

I understand all the arguments both ways on someone like Ange. Truth is it could go either way, and we wont know until it does. Interestingly the 6 prem managers who have been nominated for manger of the year are:

Mikel Arteta
Roberto De Zerbi
Unai Emery
Pep Guardiola
Eddie Howe
Marco Silva
.

I dont think anyone would have been happy with any of these managers being appointed 1 year ago (with exception of Pep- and the obvious doesnt need to be mentioned) But they have all done well. What does it tell you, fuck knows, apart from maybe noone really does know.
I think the one thing the club can get right is setting up the parameters / framework and cementing the identity going forward (although not holding my breath on that)

Because Mourinho and Conte worked out so well...

What had Enrique been doing for the past 7 years? All he has done is underachieve with Spain.

I would've liked Pochettino to come back, but that ship has sailed.
They both got Levy'd....... I think Jose's shown what he"s about even with the loss last night...... I'll be very surprised if Conte not picking up trophy in the near future.....

I get that the styles not a good fit.... But let's get this right, Levy never intended supporting these guys like they wanted, and when Jose got near a trophy he sacked him....... you need to look at Levy's failure in those appointments rather than JM & AC......

At least if it is Ange and this goes tits up the “get out of our club” singing towards levy will continue next season. The foul git will have chosen a path where if it gets worse it’ll get even worse for him.

"Why are we so bad at recruitment, why can't we be more like Brighton? They've got a great manager"

"Ok - let's hire the man that Brighton wanted as first choice to replace Potter but couldn't get him mid-season"

"Wait - not like that"

At least 4 of those would have been rejected by the SC experts

Yes I have repeated myself, and I am getting bored of doing so admittedly. I was just curious if others felt the same?

The gifs are just meant to be a bit of light hearted humour mixed in. Some seem to get a bit of joy out of it. No harm meant by it if you don't.

Some don't want Ange and refuse to budge or accept if he comes (if because it still hasn't happened), some would be happy with Ange but understand he isn't first choice and needs to be given time by the fans.

I fall into the latter. Never been my first choice, hadn't even heard of him until recently but I won't hold his CV, age or nationality against him like others do seem to.
To clarify I wasn't criticizing you or your beautiful gifs, and I align with your thinking. We're all just in the cycle where everyone is entrenched and repeating themselves no matter what our position. It just feels like time for people to take a step back and breathe.

Scenes when we announce a double whammy of JN and Rangnick.

It'd be worth it purely for all the backtracking on here re: the bald **** fucking chrome dome gnome (copyright @Bobbins and still giving me a daily chuckle)
TBF I can't see it happening but even if it did, people don't have much reason to backtrack after some of Monsieur Levy's decision making of recent seasons.

Surely Emery at Villa encapsulates perfectly that "fit" is so important. Way more important than getting a glamour name or someone who has won shitloads at elite Euro clubs. The guy was laughed out of the enemy.

It was very tongue in cheek but most of SC salivated over the decisions of recent seasons. Most wanted Poch gone, most wanted Jose and Conte, most didnt want Howe.

I just find it quite amusing the amount of Captain Hindsight that happens in all football fandom.

I don't think them 'not having heard of him' (by the way some of them probably have) would make much of a difference, the fact he would want to get them playing football that is actually a fun and enjoyable style to train and play in and that he's a likeable character would mean they'd buy into him pretty quickly.

Imagine you work in some office job and some guy comes in as your new Manager and he's been a hugely successful Manager at other huge brand companies so sure you give him respect at first but then within a few days you realise he is a moody bugger and very militant and its not fun to work for them, of course you will 'down tools', now contrast that to some big friendly funny Aussie guy who comes in and makes your work and job fun AND shows you a path to being successful like he's done before at some lesser known brands... then which one do you think you will be more motivated by...

Like anything in life if you enjoy it and are treated nicely you will be more motivated, its not rocket science.
I don't think you can compare the reaction of us to footballers they live on a different planet. And I hope he can win them over, certainly won me over but my point is his stature makes it harder for him to do so.

Anyway it sure if shared and I have looked but here is a good twitter thread about his tactics. Exciting stuff!!

We're not Brighton and this idea we should be like Brighton or Dortmund seems silly to me. Everything about this search and our club is reactive because we went with Conte so now we should never hire a winner again.
