imagine going into Harry Kanes last season at spurs and giving a guy who has never managed top level talent before the managers job.

Way to go, COYS Daniel
Imagine getting Redknapp in to unlock the potential of Bale and Modric. Imagine getting VDV in from Madrid and expecting him to do well for him. Imagine Poch coming from Saints and unlocking the potential of Kane among others. Imagine getting a partnership of Keane and Berbatov to work under Jol.

What does that even mean?

In what way does postecoglou have the same character as poch?

For that matter, in what way does poch have the same character as jol?

They're wildly different people with wildly different tactics.

Pleas explain to me how these disparate people have the same character beyond 'they are the ones that I personally like'.
Fuck me you sound like you are going through a crisis.
Have a Bex and a lie down mate.

Fucking sick of this obsession with pleasing Kane. We can't be making footballing decisions to placate one player. Other clubs have done that and it never ends well.

and i know its skin deep but i wish we wern't going to have a manager who looks like he gets into fights in carvery car parks on sundays
I mean - ufff. Bloody hell. Would you prefer a skateboarder instead?

and nothing wrong with a carvery - could murder one now.

Some of us here need to really relax. I would rather have someone like Ange than someone who we need to cater to in order to stay (because that just aint gonna happen).

Can anyone who watches Celtic regularly tell me how good Matt O'Brien is in real life? All I know is that I bought him in FM and hes been the heartbeat of my spurs team ever since.

I may well be gaslighting myself but I'm quite excited about Postecoglu. If it's a choice of him or Silva he wins hands down. Luis Enrique I'm not sure about but that's mainly because I have an aversion to glamour appointments. I was excited for Jol when Santini bottled it, was excited for Redknapp and excited for Poch. I thought Toby was a bargain who could do really well for us when many were against it. I didn't want Jose or Conte and I have been pretty vocal wanting Howe over the past 4 years, going against a pretty strong tide on here.

On the flip side I was super excited for AVB 🤣

Do you know how freaky it is to see your full name in a post about potential new managers - for a second I thought I was on the shortlist...

Thing is whoever we get as our next manager even if we did end up with JN it would have no effect if the board doesn’t back the manager… we could have pep and would still get the exact same results if the manager doesn’t get backed.

yes but Brighton have an infrastructure where players are like a conveyor belt and are really well run from top to bottom , Spurs we don't have that infrastructure.
Whoever the next manager is they are going to have to get a tune out of players like Ndombele ( as no one will buy him and i cannot see us writing the debt off) .

Ange if him does like a steward at home games all he needs is a high vis
Apparently one of Ange’s bottom lines is absolute commitment from players. If he feels they’re going through the motions, he bins them. So, it’ll be interesting to see how he goes through the squad this summer and whether Levy finally gets the message that the dynamic of the group is totally crucial to how they perform on the pitch.

Yes and no. JN will no doubt be more demanding than Ange and im all about longevity at the moment. Ive said this before and its been disagreed with but if JN was to come in now, it will not last - because we would have given false promises to lure him in... classic bait and switch.

Ange will no doubt have demands and expectations but they will most likely fit in with what we are able to give - both player wise and financially.

Thats why id rather an Ange than a JN - doesnt mean Ange is better, just that there is a better fit there and right now we need someone to rebuild this shit culturally and playing style.

I thought Conte was backed - maybe not to Pep/ManC standards but then we aren't a PR scam either.

Well he'd be in decent company in the top half of the league.

Emre looks like an impotent vampire, De Zerbi looks like a chipmunk who frequents a barber from 1997 and Arteta's nickname is Lego-head. Not sure what ETH looks like but he also has a deeply uninspiring face.

Agreed mate, but we are where we are (for) now. We've galloped as a club headfirst down the garden path singing songs about Harry, worshipping him, relying on him to pull us out of the mud, after the poor/underinvestment in the team at the back-end of Poch's reign caused the staleness, resentment etc and all the while appointing poor managers to hope that would do something.

The best thing we can do would be to use the last year/s Harry is with us productively and to have a manager that will help rebuild us, to move on the deadwood, to get us play attractive football again, to not just mime the words progress, success, flair... but to actually make the decisions and put in place the things to make it happen. That comes from the club and board.

If Harry indicates he's with us for a bit longer, by all means also keep him happy. But do it because it's best for the club at the same time.
