I really hope the joke is flying over my head here lmao
He'd be another Lamela - dogged by his high price tag and dividing the fanbase for his no doubt 7 year tenure at our club.

Roma clearly don't want to hang on to him.

He's pony - read the reports from his manager.

So, if I'm reading this correctly, it's understood that we're interested but not interested.

I spend a good portion of the year in Rome and have watched Zaniolo play live numerous times and completely disagree.

He is:
A) Not atrocious, and is a huge U21 talent. Many in Italy will tell you they rate him more than Tonali.

B) Not trying to be offloaded by Roma and Fonseca rates him. He just rubbished all those reports and clarified the club’s intent to keep him. Just yesterday Paulo Fonseca said:

Fonseca said:
"We don't want to sell Zaniolo or [Lorenzo] Pellegrini," Fonseca told Sky Sport Italia post-game.

"They are important for the future of Roma."

I do agree with you that for his price tag, he’s not the player we need at the moment. But he’s far from atrocious — he’s actually one of the brightest young talents in Serie A.

Haven't watched much Serie A this season so can't really comment on him, but I would say that whilst there are plenty of high priority signings to be made this season, we've badly missed Eriksen's creativity. Mourinho sides have been known for being organised at the back, but have always been built around a top class attacking midfielder creating the chances (Deco, Lampard, Sneijder, Ozil, Fabregas etc) which we could really do with.

He also did this the other night. How many of our midfielders have that in their locker?

Coutinho fits that bill perfectly. Loan. Premier league experience. I think it’s the obvious replacement for eriksen.

I wasn't convinced of him last summer and still not changed my mind. I believe I also said that the links were agent talk to get a better deal for his player and Zaniolo got just that.

Also, with money being tight, I'm definitely against the deal right now.

It's a good goal but that defending is comically bad, they stand there as he runs past them and the center backs are wildly out of position.

I am not questioning his talent mate, but let's put this in perspective. That was a stoppage time goal when Roma were beating Spal (the bottom feeder of Serie A) 5 goals to 1.

Think this is a rehash from our 'interest' last year to fill a few column inches. I'd rather we went for Eze for this type of player and profile.

I agree we definitely need a replacement for Eriksen but Coutinho might be too pricey. I’d rather give a younger playmaker a go. It’s why I hope we are still in for Eze. Him or another young prospect at a club in Europe who is posting good goal/assist numbers and would be a reasonable price. But we would have to move some players on to bring him in I think.

Do you also think Lamela is an "Amazing" talent?

(I'm probably just in a bad mood).

Powerful and above average technique; would be a good player for us but depends not the midfield blend.

He looks a decent player, but I can’t imagine that we would be able to afford to force Roma’s hand on this. if his contract was running out and he was desperate to move, then maybe we’d have a chance.

I feel like most people commenting haven't actually read the article.
