If Levy is struggling to green light only 50m for this guy I have no clue why he’d suddenly be fine with paying 15-20m more for Maddison, who Leicester will not exactly be overjoyed at selling.

I don't think it's about the money, particularly if we sell winks and lo Celso, I think it's about the risk on him. If his ACL goes again he's basically fucked and his career is down the pan, so we want a lower fee with less risk to mitigate it. Maddison represents much less risk, is prem proven, and would be a sellable asset comfortably, plus he's english.

This. Think is abit too easy to think it's either Zaniolo or Maddison/Paqueta. But when one look at Zaniolo play, he's really isn't like Maddison/Paqueta. Neither Maddison nor Paqueta possess the power like Zaniolo. Is like Kulu, we wouldn't associate him with a no. 10, at least not yet we have seen.

I’m not gonna lie, at this point I don’t really care which attacking midfielder we get, I just think it’s a vital option to have for us when we can’t break teams down. We can play them behind Kane and Son with Kulu at RWB, that would be incredibly tough to defend against

We aren't after a AM though. We are looking for a player who can rotate with Kulusevski with little or no drop in quality.

No update my end on this. I don't get updates as regularly as others. Last I heard from my contact, there was a high level of confidence it was heading in the right direction and looked likely. Clearly we have stumbled across more issues. My guess is we will set a deadline for this week and if we haven't agreed anything, move on to the next target.

We've been told Zaniolo is far and away Conte's preferred, so I don't think we will walk away in a week's time. Doesn't seem like time should be our enemy either, squad atm is fine to keep us ticking over until the deadline, even if overall we do need an AM and another central defender.

The confusion about an ‘AM’ is because conte refers to the positions of son and deki as 10’s not wingers
