Lo Celso had to bring down the Norwich player for the first goal. Take the yellow - like Moura did in a much less threatening area second half.

I don't know where this "Ndombele was brilliant throughout" nonsense is coming from. Actually, I probably do: he was very good after half time and most people here are really goldfish.

Let's just be clear about this: the primary reason we had zero control over midfield in the first half was that Ndombele was not fighting for the ball, he was waiting it for him to come to him. And then losing it, or not even winning it in the first place.

Nothing evidences this better than the two occasions when a Spurs defender skied a clearance and, instead of putting his body in the way, establishing control of the space and winning the ball, the way Kane would have or Dembélé would have, he waited for it to drop from a convenient distance, leaving a more aggressive Norwich midfielder to win it instead. He went on a few promising looking dribbles and, every time, he lost the ball to a more committed opponent.

In the second half, it was evident that he had been ordered to up the intensity, because that's what he did and it worked: he was very good. But he has to learn this and apply it every week: in England, you don't get the ball unless you fight for it.

He was next to useless until half time: pretty in fits, but ineffective.

Absolute fucking bollocks. Ndombele was our best player first half and second.

So a player cannot have had a good game if we draw to the bottom team? Ever? Think you need to get some sleep.

We were atrocious. Like literally embarrassingly bad. While there’s a hole in Jose Mourinho’s arse there is not one person who could be described as “half decent” let alone brilliant.

Embarrassing.

I know you're getting lots of neg for this but I both agree and disagree.

I agree that he failed in all the aspects you highlighted but I am more forgiving because he's not built to be that player yet.

That he was so effective at being that player and more second half was really encouraging.

Most encouraging was that he was able to go all game.

Clearly our second best player behind Eriksen. And the most encouraging performance because he showed he can do it all.

Yes, we were terrible from start to finish even if we were a bit better in the second half. I agree that Ndombele wasn't brillant but for me was the only positive thing about the game today and more than half decent.

Norwich have played 9 games at home. AND LOST 6.

Ndombele was brilliant.

Shameful.

Ndombele showed a lot of promise BUT defensively and offensively we were a crock of shit. Various fans are saying Eriksen was very good and MoM... yes he scored (deflection) and was better than most of his previous inept performances over the last 12 months but we were playing an absolute shower of shite in Norwich and we created the square root of fuck all. It’s pointless having a shed load of possession if you do nothing with it. We’ve reverted back to the side ways nonsense with no penetration... such a dull game to watch. Team parks the bus Spurs give up.

I know @Spurs_Bear has been tickling some pickles with his stance in this thread, but the principle of his gist is correct.

Handing out medals to players for taking part and turning up for one half of football ... Twice this season this sorry lot have drawn with the bottom club in the league and we're supposed to be competing for the top four in the league ...

Read plenty on here about 9 from 9 being critical over the festive period, well that ain't happening and now we have a tricky away game to Southampton. Be good if the starting 11 remember to put in a performance over the 90 rather than just a half of football, it's what they are paid for. Maybe stop gifting teams a fucking lead might be a start.

Son’s sending off is looking stupider by the minute at the moment. Not only is it costing us going forward but it also means Harry has to play every minute. Not ideal going forward. At least he will get a rest in the FA cup. Mourinho will have to go with Son up top in that one.

We created good chances and had plenty of shots on target but defending was trash and it will continue to be so until we get better CB, RB, LB, GK and DM. It will take years until we sort it out.

The defence seem scared to receive the ball, the midfield are static so there are no passing options for the defenders and they either keep passing sideways, hoof it forward or pass it back allowing the opposition a chance to press. Our players seem to lack footballing intelligence / tactical and technical nous, and not sure whether it’s something that Poch didn’t focus on as it’s been the case for a number of years. Even though Norwich are statistically the worst team in the league they out passed us easily with simple one and two touch passing yet our players need to have several touches before they even consider making a pass or in Alli’s case a stupid flick which goes nowhere.

Dont really see too much point in thinking like that until the last few games of the season.
I get you but I’m at that point now where every little helps. It appears we can’t do it ourselves, so hoping others do it for us on a weekly basis is my only hope ?

Both Kane and Alli should have put us 1 nil up before we conceded. That happens and I think we stroll to an easy win. For far too long now we consistently miss big chances at big moments in games. Until we learn to be ruthless we’ll continue to drop silly points as our defending is something you’d associate with a championship team.

Our problem is not with our attackers. They are regularly scoring goals. It’s our defence that has been leaky as often as our attackers score at the other end.

Jose needs to find a solution to stop the leaks at the back.
