This could definitely happen

Chelsea have precedent, selling Matic to United seemed mad, while they were also ok with Cech to Arsenal

Plus our manager knows one or two people at their club ;)

More than anything, Chelsea want a striker today and don’t want Giroud. They will think (likely with good reason) that letting us have their reject in order to remove us as competition for their incoming striker targets makes perfect sense.

naturally both clubs will try to screw over the other so it should be interesting

But I think we may well end up with Giroud while wondering why we couldn't have bought the shinier new replacement Chelsea bagged. (Until Giroud goes on to prove us all wrong of course :)

I think he would be a really good addition. Probably won’t happen though, as Chelsea are Chelsea.

Gives our board a lovely excuse doesn't it. "We had everything agreed with Chelsea but....."

Why would the club try to use a failed transfer of Giroud to their benefit? A player that a lot of people don't even want at the club? Ffs.

I'm not questioning Trix's ITK, but for me it's a bit weird that Giroud is OK with playing second fiddler when the obvious reason for wanting to leave Chelsea in the first place, is because of the lack of minutes. But with the ITK saying he's OK with that, then he must've changed his mind and sees the opportunity of Kane's absences to get in shape and claim a spot in the French team for the Euro's

Giroud will play until Kane back and then be second choice, at Chelsea he is third choice so little chance of any minutes

In Chelsea he's third choice, at us he would be 2nd choice.

Very sensible signing. Knows the league, no need to settle or re-locate etc and he won't halt the progress of Parrot. Basically a llorente upgrade.

if I was in charge of Chelsea, i'd string us along until 20 mins before the deadline and just pull out.........a top 4 rival doesn't get the striker cover they need and there's no time to pull a rabbit out of the hat.

This would be an incredibly stupid thing for chelsea to do. Wont happen

Surely negotiation deadline to be provided by Levy to prevent this, don't you think?

I agree, but on the other hand the 'news' could be coming from us with a view to Sociedad bottling the price/terms for Jose (or any of our other options).

He's 3rd choice behind Abraham and Batschuayi. Coming to Spurs he'd get more minutes, especially in the short term with Kane out

All for this, really do think it might happen. I mean Chelsea aren't using him at all so they mightnt stand in his way and as mentioned above I think Jose might be able to swing this with Frank.

i dun understand fans’ reluctance on giroud, they seem to be more concerned about rivalries than our own club.

my rivals has always been the ones standing in front of me, posing the most threat, not geographical.

So what Giroud played for arse and chavs? we celebrated Gallas and Adebayor’s goals, we celebrated Graham winning the Worthington cup and now we have a Chavs Legend managing our side. Didn’t Greavsie join us from the Chavs?

Giroud wants first team football till Euros, Jose wants a target man, Lloris, Moussa, Tanguy knows Giroud well. He has PL experience.

Lads, let’s be rational amd head over heart.

Win-Win situation till Chavs pull the plug at 2259 to screw us over.
