I actually quite liked Mido....he had some ok moments for us....but then he discovered pies :(

Talking of pies - Andy Reid

He was supposed to be shit hot and at the time it looked like we took Dawson just to get the Reid deal through, in the end Dawson was the star signing of those two.

Further afield - Adriano (had 1 fantastic season with Inter where he looked unstoppable from what I remember) and I'm scratching my head for other "new Maradona or Pele's"

That's a bit harsh. He had 4 very good and 1 decent season in Italy:

2002/03 - 17 goals in 31 games for Parma
2003/04 - 9 goals in 13 games for Parma (was injured)
2003/04 - 12 goals from 18 games for Inter (was injured)
2004/05 - 28 goals from 42 games for Inter
2005/06 - 18 goals from 47 games for Inter

He also has 27 goals from 48 games for Brazil.

Then in 2006 he fell into the whole 'Brazil party boy' crowd with Ronaldo and Ronaldinho. He got himself involved with some shady dudes from the Rio slums, drank a lot of beer, did some coke and before you know it had become a shit player.

But during those 5 seasons he was a very good striker.

I stand corrected

I remember Garry Brady. I was so excited that we had this star amognst our youth team. Then we sold him for quite a bit to Newcastle. I was gutted. But then he was shit anyway

Emile Heskey - one good season for Liverpool and he has lived off it since, almost ten years now.
Julio Baptista - remember him?? No??? The Beast??? Still no???
Charlie Adam - just a prick with very little footballing ability.
David Bentley - The next Beckham ffs! Hold on while I pick myself up off the floor!!!
Stewart Downing - The left sided David Bentley.
Jo - Can't remember how much City paid for him, just remember he was supposed to be the next Brazilian star and was just shit.
Agbonlahor - Honestly can't fathom why anybody talks about him in a kind way at all.
Adel Taraabt - can't doubt his talent, but I doubt he will ever be able to do much with it.
David Beckham - Unbelievable crosser, unbelievable free kick taker, very very little else. Poor defensively, poor offensively, and not a huge amount of vision either. Possibly one of the most overrated footballers of all time IMO.
