Is there anything more annoying than posters that post ‘not happening’ on every single link? Why even bother reading the report then and subsequent comments?

Liverpool are sniffing around him apparently.

Think we'll have to wait and see if bigger clubs make a move.

Not happening, will be too expensive
Even if the fee is much higher, this would be a vastly better long term investment than other players we’ve been linked with such as Wilson or Wood.

Daka is young and, unless he’s a complete and total disaster of a signing, is highly likely to maintain much of the value we would pay for him even if he’s just okay. Look at the fees that the likes of Joelinton, Wesley and Ollie Watkins have gone for — even if it turns out that three years down the line Parrott has beaten him out as first choice, we’re still likely to be able to demand a good fee for him. The downside risk is moderate, again assuming that he’s not a complete and total flop.

The upside however is tremendous, he’s in the bracket of talents who could feasibly command £100m+ if he reaches his full potential.

If the club has the money to secure the transfer it’d be a wiser use of our resources than many of the other players we’ve been linked with this window.

So rumour was that Lille offered €30 million for him but Salzburg didn't want to budge. Lille then turned around and instead signed Jonathan David for around the rumoured fee offered for Daka which makes me think it was true.

Would love for us to sign him, but it will probably take around €40 million. Which in my opinion would be a smart decisions as I think he could rapidly increase in value.

Has Ally basically confirmed Hercs players as Daka and Diallo there? If we are in talks for Daka that is seriously exciting.

THIS is the transfer that moves the needle for me. If the player is interested in us you find the money somehow. You have a potential superstar forward here. He's following in the footsteps on Mane and Haaland and not looking out of place.

Not only does this tick our current boxes you are also looking at a potential succession plan for Kane.

No guarantees he lives up to all that but he has enough about him to be a very useful player regardless, and signing him would be a massive sign of ambition.

I really hope he is also who JJ is talking about.

Was praying he is the mystery striker ITK has been referring too. By far the best striker we've been linked to.

He’s fast as fuck and an absolute baller. Check out his performance vs Liverpool a few weeks ago.

Liverpool are less keen to spend than even us. Plus he won’t play at all for them, he isn’t a number 9 in the mould of Firmihno and which of the wide forwards is he displacing? He has a chance to play with Kane, in place of him and on the wing for us.

My hope is that the way AG has reported on this is usually not until Spurs feel confident in a signing.

Think we have to take a lesson from Villa and really push for this one if we are concerned about competition.

Found this news and source was Salzburger Nachrichten, not sure how much they are reliable.
Lille president said they wanted Alfredo Morales as their 2nd choice after David

Firmino has been hot and cold for a while now and Liverpool desperately needs a number 9. This guy could easily slot in any of the front 3 positions for them.

He has as much of a chance playing for Liverpool as he does for us. Don't forget we have Son, Kane and Moura. Who are all basically guaranteed starters under Mourinho. This isn't even taking into account Bergwijn and Lamela.

He is also apparently a Liverpool fan. A Liverpool fan I know seems to think they need to shift some squad players before they spend any major money. Apparently paid out a lot on contract renewals, agent fees, bonuses etc and treading carefully in the current climate.

Can’t see them selling Brewster (20y/o), HG with international honours for the same price they would sign a potential AFCON attendee who’s playing in a below par league.

Mane, Salah, Baka to all miss large parts of the season due to AFCON. (Not to mention Keita and Matip).

I'm sure after getting David they're going to tell everyone that he was their #1 choice...

didn’t allow myself to get too excited when I saw his name being uttered around SC... ally gold however makes me very optimistic about the sort of support we’re looking at for kane... real competition with potential to challenge him in the future

Firminho might be hot and cold, but Daka doesn’t drop deep and link up play as a false 9 like him, he’s much more like Mane in play style.

He’d rotate with the wingers for sure, but I think an ambitious player like him would see Lucas and think “I could supplant him”.

Maybe I’m being a bit of homer, but I think we present him better chances to start and play. Just depends if he wants game time with us, or rotation at the club he supports.
