I think it is becoming clear that we need a major clearout of staff and players. Anybody without the right attitude or ability needs to leave. It is a shame but it has been coming for a few years now.

I used a similar example of this in another thread yesterday - Swansea. They manage to deal with managerial upheaval and retain a 'house' style and consistency. Why can't we do that?

we do, we run a house style called accountancy and balance the books

Because we dont have an in house style.

It is also really the essence of the MoPo bitch. All the media lines on metality etc is a smoke screen for too many do what they want and there is a lac of discipline. It is not easy to change characters. You need characters but positive ones; ones who dont need selling on, but will promote, the philosophy

AVB had the problem at Chelski and to a certain extent here and Poch tried to here Dawson I am sure was picked on because of the length of his tenure he was the indication there would be change but BAE and Sandro were considered too vocal and not serious enough Cant help wondering giving all the previous that Ade is in that camp bu that might just be doing him a dis service

I've also used Swansea as an example before in other threads, why can't we do it? Quite simply it's Levy, we needed a coach to originate a style, if they stay long enough to originate one, and then bring players in to match, what he should have done was taken a blueprint drawn up by McDermott and hired Head Coaches based on how our Academy and Development teams were playing.
Hindsight is great but I have been banging the drum for a definitive style, Its not as if Levy didn't notice Fergie do it for ages.
Financial genius is all well and good but we needed him to have a go at organic farming too.

They finished 8th last season, we finished 6th, so what's the point in getting their head of recruitment.?

If we are going for him, I wonder how does it fit with Broomfield? Plus, we would have to offer this guy a big contract to leave the job security of the Saints and enter our choppier waters.
get rid of Adebayor and give him his wage. Will do far more for us

Your missing the point Mullers, it's about having a longer term plan behind the scenes, last time i looked Southampton were in 2nd place, so continuity of style behind the scenes seems to have worked out ok for them, as does climbing through all the divisions every season.
Also we spent a gazillion quid for our 6th place whilst Southampton spent fuck all with a smaller squad and decent youth prospects emerging for their 8th place.

And exactly this, leave SCBC for us only to be given his P45 about 18 months later when falling victim to the latest reshuffle/change of direction. Right now when Levy makes a decision it's hard not to be very sceptical about it.

But they aren't going to stay 2nd and the season doesn't finish in 2 weeks time, it's just more panic from Levy.

The Mitchell fella has been behind the scenes for a while now Mullers, added to that i read that Southampton changed the way they do things about 8 seasons ago, every single youth team plays the same formation as the first team, every youth player could step on the pitch and know roughly what job they do in each position, they buy players to fit a club style.
It's not knee-jerk, it should have been done years ago, we won't get Mitchell anyway, he would be nuts to leave what he helped build on the coast and enter volcano Lane.

But they still finished 8th last season and that wouldn't be good enough with us would it?

Why would bringing this bloke in mean we finish 8th? I don't think you get this debate Mullers.
Its about knowledge, building behind the scenes, buying players who fit because Levy clearly doesn't have the first clue how to do that, should we just keep bringing players in who turn a profit regardless? or try to correct the problems with recruitment?

Maybe it says more about them as a club than us as one.

Maybe he thrives on the buzz of crisis management.
