Does anyone else remember an interview João Moutinho gave not long after Wolves were promoted where he confirmed that he had actually signed for us but the paperwork missed the deadline by minutes?

If this is still alive, hopefully we sneak the right side of the deadline this time!

One thing gutting me is why the hell they started considering a loan just couple hours ago (I know they didn't but it has been made public then). A loan with obligation to buy basically equal to buying straghtaway. If Juve wants money now, we could pay ridiculously high loan fee and then buy him for almost nothing. Everyone wins.
Tax treatment different? A loan fee is probably fully-taxable. On a purchase, you'd only pay tax on the difference between selling and buying price? Could still be done, though.

Unfortunately for me this window means we haven’t strengthened sufficiently. Eriksen is surely off, so we’ve swapped Dembele for NDombele and Eriksen for GLC. Then signed two kids.

It’s just not enough.
Eriksen is still here so we have to keep him now and try and sign him to a new contract. Even if that means a clause in his contract that we have to accept a reasonable bid from Madrid.

I wish people would stop with this Ndembele is a replacement for Dembele nonsense. Dembele barely played last season before he got injured, even when he returned he didn't play and then got sold. He was poor by the end of the previous season, his body just wasn't up to it anymore. In the meantime Winks grew into a key player and Sissoko transformed into another key player. A lot has changed in the last year so there's no need for a Dembele replacement anymore. Ndombele will add to our midfield in a big way as will Lo Celso. We're a lot stronger in midfield now.

Eriksen has gone?

Mate, with respect, they probably know what they're doing here. Love you.
And you're absolutely right. But if image rights are that big concern, it should be (probably was) considered before - and current media reports are just clickbaits

How does that get round the image rights problem though?

He’s still playing for us.
it could help us - he would be still Juve player playing for us. There is fair chance Juve is entitled to 1) use his image rights as long as he is their player 2) give us sort of sub-licence to use his image rights (although they would be still owned by third party)
Of course it depends on contract between Juve and image rights owner and I'm just a guy on the internet forum contemplating multi milion deals during his work time, but it makes some sense.

On one hand - personal terms seem to have been agreed and as we've been talking for two days it shouldn't be too difficult to agree a loan fee etc.
On the other - the image rights would still need sorting and it depends if Juve are happy with the loan fee

I imagine that the club are trying to find ways to make this work but ultimately we will run out of time or find it impossible
