Barca were his dream club but they have wanted Raphinha since summer and wanted to keep Dembele so were not going to get Dybala as well. AC only got involved after Inter pulled out, they had other targets they were already working on much like everyone else. Inter and his agent really fucked him.

Sooo Barca and AC Milan turned him down...

But it hardly speaks volumes tho does it. Especially as AC Milan only got involved after Inter pulled out, which was my original point. It’s also worth noting that AC were the ones who initiated contact and would have looked into it further but their contract offer was very small, was something like 4/5mil including bonuses I believe as per reports. Aside from Barca, who didn’t need him, he was set on Inter and he turned away from other interests because he was led to believe he was practically a Inter player.

Apparently Jose was a big factor. Called him to persuade him. Also if Roma don't get CL next season he has a 20m release clause.

Could see them getting it.. I think Napoli could take a big step back with no Insigne & Koulibaly.

While it's disappointing we didn't get him, it's really amazing to see all the excitement in Rome these days. Just won their first ever European trophy in over 60 years and now their biggest signing since Gabriel Batistuta. Think Roma sold over 36,000 season tickets, the highest number since 2004 (for comparison, think Lazio sold around 9,000 so far).

Hope the move works out for them... especially when playing against Juve.

Definitely unpopular here but good on Jose as well. No hard feelings from me with him, wished him well when he left and was amazing to see Roma win the final. Really excited to see Dybala there.

Agreed with everything except the last sentence. At 28 and being quite a star, I'm still very disappointed he remained in Italy and with Roma who are not playing CL next season. I know many will say Rome or Italy is a great place to stay and his family and all are happy blah blah.. But purely from my point of view, just don't understand why he's not testing himself in other leagues when he's more than capable. I'm not even angry he's not coming to Spurs. But in La Liga, Bundesliga, or another team in the PL where I will get to watch him, will be so exciting seeing him play other than the Serie A, again. Boring, TBH.

I think Dybala would 100% leave Serie A if Real Madrid or Barcelona ever came calling. But he's never seemed the type to go to Premier League.

Thats fucking weird considering it was common knowledge he wanted Inter for so long and only chose Roma because Inter chose Lukaku instead.

Imagine us fans doing that over a player that flirted with Chelsea or Utd or City all summer until they chose someone else?

Weird.

Weird.

It is weird isn't it a club trying to generate more money through the excitement, as if they just broke the record for shirt sales or something.

Exactly my view. Even if he hadn’t flirted with other clubs, still weird

he must be wondering what the fuck is going on
