Why does it make us look stupid? Trying to sign a top footballer?

It's not like there's a queue outside the Spurs shop of people trying to buy Dybala shirts!

I mean it in a way of if we did not ever have a chance for whatever reason to sign him... look how everybody took the p**s out of the scum for the 45m bid for wilf .... Surely we only leak this if we are close

Lol. They can use one of their many arms to pump money into the club via advertising or partnerships if needs be. Exor the Agnelli family investment company can utilise FCA, Partner Re, CNH and many others to this end.

For example Jeep’s deal is due to expire in 2021 so with their 42% voting rights in FCA and an Agnelli as chairman they could easily push through an early renewal deal in line with Barcelona’s, Real’s or Man United’s shirt deals and it would not set off FFP alarm bells.
I never put two and two together about why Jeep was their shirt sponsor. But knowing that Juve’s owners are the same people that ruined Jeep makes me hate them more than anything they can do on or off the pitch.

Not unpopular at all. I don't understand how anybody, whether that is members on SC or Poch himself, can look at our squad and not think that top class full back/s would be more important that Dybala and improve us to a greater degree(if Eriksen stays).

Apart from the gaping holes in midfield and literally no offensive options off the bench last season. Id think that’s probably more in Poch’s mind than lumping our budget into world-beating fullback fantasies...

Can agree. If we leaked that info only to pay less for Lo Celso, Bruno Fernandes would be better option to that. Some media reports that he is our plan B.

I’m wondering if the feeling is that fb’s, certainly rb’s given the want for Sessegnon, of the right quality aren’t available this window

I get what you're saying, I was one of those that thought we needed to break the bank on full backs with how we play, however its much more exciting to see us buying players such as Ndombele Clarke as well linked to Lo Celso Dybala Sessengnon. With Trippier gone, Rose looking likely I trust Poch has a plan.

At this stage with Trippier gone, Rose likely to go, kwp/Foyth with potential but unproven... i'm not even sure they have to be world beating to improve us...

That plan will most likely revolve around kwp, aurier, sess and Davies then, no?

I’d take dybala over an upgrade on them...

I really don't see PSG get it to work. Barca currently have no money, and I'm not taking the piss when I say that. They had to take out a massive loan for Griezmann which only barely covered the transfer, and Atletico have said they actually need to pay 200m instead of 120m, so they can be ruled out of the Neymar stakes. Real Madrid have already spent a fortune this summer and the only way they could conceivably get Neymar is if PSG took Bale in a player+cash deal, which I'm not sure they would. I don't know how FFP works exactly, but in terms of satisfying it I imagine you need actual money coming in rather than assets in the form of players. Long story short, I don't really see how PSG could actually get him unless UEFA suddenly 'relax' their FFP rules and make the whole thing moot.

It's probably harder for us to sign a forward who Poch thinks is worldclass than it is to buy top class full backs. We can get the full backs next season, but if we miss this chance with Dybala we won't get another shot. It's an opportunistic buy that we have to go for now.
And our full backs probably aren't as bad as people are making out. Look at Man City's left side. They've got Mendy who is very good, but has only played 17 league games in two seasons because of injury. He's their Aurier. They've also got Zinchenko who is good and could be great, but still very young and still learning. You can easily compare him to Foyth. I'm quite happy to give Foyth and Sessegnon a season to prove themselves and develop. Liverpool wouldn't have TAA (20) in their team now if they hadn't been prepared to take a similar risk with him. I don't really see it as a risky strategy.

Fed up with people posting stupid comments about Dele. The guy is a diamond. He had no pre-season last year, picked up a lot of injuries, and played out of position. The whole squad struggled last year because of the injuries, pre-season, lack of rotation. What is wrong with some of you?
I think I have a bit of sunstroke...
